Reread, key to the seal, so I can drain the water, he didnt drop anything whatsoever.

You've tried quitting/reloading, of course. You've tried opening the door anyway? You said "drop," so I assume you killed him instead of having him give it to you?

Ive quit reloaded went back to where he died multiple times, tried the chest at firelink, everything, and nothing. I tried joining the darkwraiths yes, so I killed him, and then no key, so I continued on with the game hoping everything would sort itself out. And now I need to beat the four kings and cannot. ANd yeah I tried the door anyways, its locked

Wow. If this doesn't have anything to do with the new additions I'm stumped. There's that other empty chest in Gwyn's Chamber, but that's a longshot. Maybe it found its way to Artorias' grave in the forest.

its an auto loot item... so it should appear in your inventory upon his death... there is a chest where lost game breaking items can be found (like ring of artorias if you drop it etc) its the chest in fire link thats usually open, check there... wait you said you checked there didn't you... crud that sounds bad...

The chest in Firelink is the only solution I can think of, otherwise well...

I have a similar issue except in my case Ingward doesn't appear at all on the roof in New Londo Ruins. I tried it before and after obtaining the Lordvessel. He just doesn't show up, meaning at this point I have no way of clearing the game.

I had the exact same thing happen to me on new game+ just a few hours ago. Went taurus -> gargoyles -> butterfly -> Sif and then to New Londo and killed Ingward, who dropped nothing whatsoever. No key in inventory, nothing in box in Firelink, tried opening the door to the seal even without the key and didn't work. Quite annoyed right now as I even wasted time farming on the first playthrough for a 100% game (stuff like ghost blade, catch pole, etc.

Hmmm, I'm saying this as like "Tried this dummy?" I just mean this curiously, has anyone checked where Ingward stands in Firelink when he moves? If that is the fix to this, which I doubt it is, it might make a few of you feel silly. I just have to make sure, no stone left unturned you know?

There is a way to give yourself the key using a program such as artmoney. I managed to figure out how to do it but I'm not going to post it here since it would probably violate the forum rules. If anyone's interested, just send me a PM.

It's not a NG+ only glitch. Happened to me in first game.
