PvP tales!

I've been using a build modeled after a Roman Centurion:

Anyways, so I invaded I guy wearing virtually nothing. I think he had the hollow soldier waistcloth and the fang boar helm on. I beat him rather easily and used a whip R2 to symbolize enslaving him (read up on Roman history if you don't get it), and he messages me:

"dude you are *** really using a spear you suck"

I messaged back, in a cosplay type way:

"Nay you heathen. Kneel before the might of Rome and it's glory!"

He said:

"wow you are really *** pretending talking like your in the middle ages"

It ended up being a long going thing of him calling me ***, and I spouting Roman jargon at him until he got pissed and blocked me. People tend to get really mad when I kill them with this. I think it's the whip R2

Waahahah! So I'm busy farming for Kirks Barbed Sword in the depths. When I say farming I mean creating a new toon, master key and defeat only the one demon for the key to the depths and then running past the butcher, giant rat and down the slope, unlock the backdoor to the bonfire,rest, go human and back down to find Kirk. If the drop isnt the BSS then rinse and repeat.

I finally managed to get the sword back to the bonfire with all my souls - 20k worth and level up to 10 for the upcoming tourney. As I'm past the Butcher almost out the depths I get invaded... Sackbro, wearing oswalds set and priscillas dagger. Clearly I'm out matched so I drop all my armour and weapons and have a naked fist fight. He doesn't do the same but just stands there trying to riposte. As soon as I'm punching the snot out of him I Roll BS him twice in a row and he loses it, swinging the dagger till his stamina clears. I manage to get in one more BS with my fists and he finishes me off. But I was wetting myself with laughter. This chap musta thought he was gonna toy with me and I dished out some pain.. Mr T style pain! lol!
Wish I had that recorded or could have seen his face! lol!

Well after what felt like a year of no Darks Souls, or no PvP at least, I put my RSS down in undead burg and got summoned.  Host was in full giants two handing a gold tracer with another red phantom who in one match switched between like 10 different weapons, managed to use multiple consumables at once, spammed dark magic, and added in some ninja flipping on top of that.  I killed the phantom and then the host killed me at the end.

Good to know people still try hard.

This is far from my best PvP tale but it's my most recent. Just happened about five minutes ago :3

I was doing some Arena matches (getting them every 5-ish minutes too, insanely fast amirite?) and I encounter a guy with full Ornstein's (minus the helm) a zweihander and a black knight shield. 

My build was a poke-heavy dex/pyro, and I can toggle escape.

See where this is going?

Anyway, first match I trounced him. I'm not THAT great, he was just god-awful...like, he was spamming the jump attack with the Zweihander kind of awful. I think the final tally was like 6-to-0. I was switching weapons constantly the entire fight (after I realized how bad he was, I pretty much spent the whole time toying with him) and afterwards he sends me this message.

"nice hacks but stupid for using them on xbox ambasador...any idiot knows u only have 2 equipment slots a hand jackass"

YES, REALLY.

After I very calmly explained to him that I was menu switching and that you can't "hack in" extra equipment slots, he sends me this...

"nice try idot but yes you can. so u can hack points but not slots? idiot"

I politely suggested he google it if he didn't believe me and didn't get a reply back. A few minutes later we got matched up again and he started backstab fishing with the hornet ring and finishing up with WoTG spam. After he got me twice I became moderately irked (re: legit pissed) and started Flamberge running R1/R2 combo-ing the crap out of him and, after he got me to red tearstone range, he started eating chaos fireballs to the face. He didn't seem to know where the B button was, let alone what its purpose was. I even got lucky and predictive parried him once ^_^ which with my crappy connection is a miracle.

Afterwards he sends me this...

"oh my *** AND blue bearstone spam??!? garbage i feel bad for u"

"blue bearstone spam??!?"

Looking at his achievements, I found that...if you saw this coming, feel VERY smart...he hadn't even rung the second bell yet. Now add WoTG/Ornstein gear/the fact that he's in the DLC at all and his achievements say he hasn't even gotten to Blighttown yet...

Sounds like the kind of person who feels it is "everybodys fault but mine". If someone beat me, it couldn't possibly be due to my skillz, clearly they had an unfair advantage and were hacking or something else.

This afternoon was the first time I killed a max-level player with an SL10. Actually, I have "killed" max-level players before, but they always involved cliffs; this one was a head-on fight. Granted the player was probably a new player, but a mega-mule user nonetheless. How do I know? The player was in a full Paladin Set with a Black Knight Halberd in Sen's Fortress. That alone might have meant that they were doing an NG+ run. However, as I began to bring down their HP, they flasked, but it was pretty clear that they were using unupgraded flasks!  I mean, if you're going to mega-mule, do it right.

A Sen's Fortress story: I invaded as the host and phantom were crossing the bridge with the first Lightning-Casting Serpent. Like any knowledgeable players, they decided that they would try to ambush me around that room as I approached. The host stood just in the doorway to that room, holding up a shield. As I approached, he appeared to lose his nerve and decided that it would be better to engage me inside the room with the phantom. Still, facing me, he backpedaled into the room, but accidentally set off the bolt trap, killing him. The great thing was that I was watching TheSunlightBlade's Top 10 Epic Fails at the same time.

My SL 127 had over 15 mil Souls, so I used them to get to SL 199.
SLB Murakumo is a thing of horrific beauty. Some invaders even started to run away when they saw me buff it. Can't blame them. On max Stats it killed almost everyone I fought in two swings. Build has backup WoG and DB.
Gankers? Healers? Modder with over 4k HP? No problem.
It's the most OP thing I ever saw and created and takes next to no skill to use too.
Oh and it's Darkmoon too.

When I pvp, I'm in the burg 85% of the time.  At the time I was new to pvp and was getting my *** handed to me nearly every battle. I kept running into the same bankers over and over again.  One was this naked guy standing around while a dude with an abyss greatsword and lord's blades robes was hiding in the little room and would backstab anyone coming down the stairs.  The worst was an Ornstein build that would just R1 span until you were dead.  I'm terrible at parrying and I couldn't get close to the guy.  I began spamming Wrath of the gods and his buddy would just stand far away and heal him.  I lost to him maybe 3  times.  I then invaded them again, but the Ornstein guy was already fighting someone and I spawned behind the host and he must have been afk or something.  So I did what any decent person in my shoes would have done.  I backstabbed her and button mashed until he was dead.  When he died the Ornstein guy freaked out and left his current fight and ran up to me and started R1 spamming.  Felt soooo great.  I ended up getting a little over 140k souls from that one kill.  Not bad, for a level 80 or so.

Invaded in the forest at level 47 to find a guy with a katana and bandit knife.Went to attack him,he runs off and starts popping mushrooms.Pulls his knife out,takes a scythe through his back 5 times and dies.

He then hatemails me to liken me to a cat and threatens me for if I invade again.

Isn't that nice. He loses and convinces himself that you were just a lucky b**ch. He probably thinks that he lost because he didn't do enough shrooms before the fight. Did you invade him again?

No,unfortunately my Gold ran out right after I killed him.Pity but oh well.

Recording some SL55 fat roll PvP in Anor Londo just now and I managed to filled up my HDD (because FRAPS files are ginormous), but continued to invade.

About 2 invasions after I fill it up I invade some chap and as I spawn in I hear the sound of a buff being applied. Then I hear the sound of something else being cast, I thought it was TWoP/Replenishment (that's what it sounded like).


So I walk up to the entrance to Solaires bonfire and approach the door with my Dragon Greatsword in the shield position. Straight up 5 HCSM hit my raised sword (which did SFA damage btw) and there standing before me is a guy dressed in full Giants with the Child Mask, and a CMW buffed Murakumo.

He seems to want to duke it out in an R1 spam kind of way, that's fine with me.
I can get 3 swings of my 75 poise dealing weapon before I'm out of stamina, and it's only a tad slower than his Mura, so, being in mostly Havels, I'm pretty certain I've got this.

We poise trade, I hit him thrice and my stamina depletes, he only gets one hit on me (which does about 1/4 of my health) before getting stunlocked by the second, just a tad before his Mura would've connected for a second hit.
He backs off to heal and as he's rolling backwards I see a small bit of green creep into my stamina bar, I go for the R2 special, and nail him right in the face just after he comes out of his roll and as he's starting to bring up some Estus to heal.

BOOM. ~50k souls.

I was shocked, dude was ~SL250.

I really wish I'd recorded it too.

Well, yesterday I was in Oolacile, assisting people with Manus (ironically, I have yet to beat him in my own world) with a Ciaran cosplay. I get summoned to a world with someone dressed like Smough. So, we bow, he summons someone else... then he gets invaded. After the first defeat, I see him pull out a Dried Finger. Now I realize he's here for invasions, not Manus. Normally, I'm against ganking and any part of it, but I decided, "You know what? Might as well for once". It was a blast; we were dancing around, killing invaders, giving each other items (like titanite, weapons, etc.), spamming the Silver Pendant. Most fun I had in ages.

Later that same day, I get summoned to another world to someone wearing Ciaran's outfit and Tracers, much like me. I had a giggle, then they summoned ANOTHER Ciaran cosplayer. So, all three of us went down to Manus and tore him a new one.

It's great on PC when you summon/are summoned to host PvP, as the invasions are so slow that you get something to do in between invasions (be silly, trade) and when someone does invade you just take it in turns to fight them.

It's great if you're also both in cosplay or on quality builds, that way you can switch up the cosplay every few fights. Invaders love a bit of cosPvP.

In the forest as usual, and the host and his phantom are chasing me as I attempt to lure them down the ladder by the bridge near the cats.

I managed to get down there and quickly heal, but the host and phantom both get down quicker than I expected and I am sandwiched in the corner next to the ladder. They both start unloading attacks on me, I roll through them twice and then kick once. Their attacks kill me just as my kick connects which sends both of them off the ledge to their deaths, it was a brilliant moment!

Hey folks, I'm back! After getting PS+ I played a lot of games and kinda abandoned Dark Souls... But not any more! And while at it, I'm reviving this thread too.

Anyway, here's my PvP tales: The first thing I did after returning to Dark Souls was make a new character. Start fresh, ye know? I was going for a broadsword build at first, but got bored with it and switched to the Washing Pole instead. Also killed Bed of Chaos first try, no deaths, no cheats  

So I finally get to Duke's, and I decide I've done enough PvE, so I'm gonna PvP with my half-assed PvE build. I meet some pretty weird people. 

First there's a bunch of people who simply ignore me as I stand by the bonfire, and they just run into the Crystal Caves for some reason. And fall to their deaths.  

Then there's 1 person who seems to do the same, but comes back and starts flinging **** at me. So I run towards them, and they run away again. But I get in a plunging attack and a slash or 2. After that they jump of the wooden platform into the golem garden, and the fall damage kills them.

Now I got bored with PvP, so I drop my WSS and get summoned by a blue-greenish guy wearing nothing but a Giant's helmet and a giant club. I kill some mobs and discover that it's NG+. I'm left with about 20% hp as someone invades. The host does not heal me, nor does he help me kill the invader. Doesn't matter, I kill the invader anyway without taking any damage. Then we go kill Seath, but I get wrecked by a chain-stun of the tentacle-slam-attack  

Then the ****-flinger returns. But this time they don't come back from the Crystal Caves. After waiting way too long I decide to go check on them. Once I arrive at the caves I hear some weird noise. I ignore it and see the ****-flinger wielding a greatbow. I run towards them, effortlessly dodging the giant arrows, and they jump down onto a lower platform. I try to chase, but then I notice what the noise came from: the ****-flinger activated all the *** butterflies! 
So I run back up like crazy, trying to avoid all the magic spikes being shot at me. I get hit once but still get out of there alive. I send the ****-flinger a message, telling them I'm not interested in their pathetic little games and that they should come back up to fight me. No reply, but after I wait some more the ****-flinger finally shows their ugly face again. When I walk up to them, however, they run away again. Not interested in chasing them, I just walk back into the previous room and set up an ambush around a corner. I manage to get a backstab and then finish them with a sprint attack. Followed by adding them to my block list because that was extremely annoying.

Had something similar in dukes, he ran off first and kicked off the music box in the prison, then i saw him ninja fliiping all the wayt down the stairs and onto the crystal caves. I was watching youtubes vids at the time while waiting on invasions so decided to wait him out. 20 minutes and there was nothing then i get a message "dare you enter and finish the great whateverhisnamewas's labrynth of doom?". so i said feck it and wne t down there, like you he'd all the buttlerflys agro'd, it was the slowest i've ever walked through the caves, expecting a greatbow to knock me off at any stage. Eventually i got to the end, killed the clams and there he he was slap bang in the middle of seaths room. I then got a congratulations message and enter to fight. Of course i entered and the cutscene ensued and he was sent home. Got a message later that the great one found me unworthy and i would not recieve the honour of dueling him. I found it rarther amusing.

Been doing a lot of Darkwraithing in Oolacile Township recently, and had some fun times. And some.... interesting times.

I invade, and see a person in full giants with a talisman in one hand and Manus catalyst in the other.  I already know this isn't going to end well.

They cast whatever the miracle that slows you down is and walk up to me, then start spamming dark bead, which one shot me before the spell was even cast on my scree. I dunno if that's lag or not.

during a whole day of invading I was probably killed by this person a good 7 times, until I finally managed to invade him when he was AFK, so I jumped in joy and stole all his humanity, then kicked him off the nearest cliff and got...

2500000 souls... I'm lvl 80...
