Any useful tips for Demon's Souls?
I finally got my hands on this game after hundreds of hours put into Dark Souls, mainly because I JUST got a PS3 yesterday. So, any quick tips you guys could hand out or should I just go in blind like Dark Souls?
Also, hey guys, long time no see.

Parrying and backstabbing are both trickier in DS compared to DKS, so be wary of that.

Hold on to your demon souls, you never know when you might need them.

Is it recommended to fight the Tower Knight after the Phalanx? He destroyed me pretty handily.

Treat him like the iron golem. You hit his legs repeatedly and then, when he's down, you can get massive damage on his head.
Edit: also, make sure to take out his archers first by going up the staircases; that way, it's a one vs one fight.

Your tips were great, I beat him my very next try.
Where should I head after 1-2? 1-3?

Re: Any useful tips for Demon's Souls?
I'm pretty sure you can't head to 1-3, you need an archdemon's soul and I can't remember where you get that. Just wander around and do what you can. Maybe try 4-1 since that's not too bad once you learn the skeleton's spots and the traps. Plus, there's a character that'll remind you of good old Lordran.
On a side note: I've never played DS myself. I learned this stuff from Kaz's videos on youtube. He has a whole run through all of demons souls that you might want to check out if you're stuck.

Just try whatever you want! That's the beauty of Demon's Souls, it's as linear as you make it

Yeah, I think I'll just explore more, maybe grind some upgrade materials from 2-1.

All the X-1s most X-2s are easy (well, maybe not latria) but I've beaten 1-1 through 1-4 with base stuff at like sl 30, so its do able in any order.

I beat 1-1, 1-2, 2-1 and 4-1. I'm thinking I should just finish off World 1, then maybe move on to 3-1.

Re: Any useful tips for Demon's Souls?
You need to finish off another level before you can finish off all of world 1, because of the fact that you need an Arch-demon's soul. You can get one of these by killing one of the bosses at the end of a world. Such as the Dragon God or the Old Monk.
World 1 is normally one of the last worlds I finish because of the fact that you need an arch-demon's soul.

Re: Any useful tips for Demon's Souls?
I'd recommend world 2 or 5 personally. For the Arch-Demon soul.
2 consists of most of the harder fights in Demon Souls with the Flamelurker residing in 2-2 but once you finish the world you can make some incredibly powerful weapons with it's soul.
With five it's a bit different, you need to get used to the enemies and the environment before you can progress through it. It's essentially like blight town but with a much more cramped and claustrophobic design at 5-1. I'd just recommend taking it slowly there and once you get used to it all it'll be a breeze. The bosses are very easy as well aside from the last one depending on how you play.

I thought only Dragon God had the Archdemon soul. I still learn new things about this game.

Nope, I originally thought that too through my first playthrough but I used the Storm King's soul to open 1-3 on NG+.
Also world 3 on NG tends to be a very easy world to go through, just have some patience in 3-2 because your going to die quite a few times.

Re: Any useful tips for Demon's Souls?
Go through 2-2, 2-3. Getting through 2-2 will unlock your special weapon upgrades, (like making weapons from boss souls at the Giant Blacksmith), and 2-3 is easy and you will get your first Archdemon down, allowing you to go back to 1-3 whenever you feel ready. Going through 2-3 also nets you the Dragon Bone Smasher, so you can easily kill the Old Monk in 3-3, (assuming it's an NPC and not a summoned player).

Re: Any useful tips for Demon's Souls?
If you have 10 INT and 10 MAJ, Flamelurker is a joke as you can buy Water Veil and simply tank his hits. Also, assuming you have fast roll, you can evade pretty much everything, you can even roll into his explosions. Unless you're going to fight him naked, you should be fine with decent armor.Dubscythe wrote:Flamelurker isn't as bad as people say is it?

Re: Any useful tips for Demon's Souls?
^ Flamelurker is the easiest boss in the whole game. You don't even need water veil. I honestly don't know why people claim he's hard.
- Spoiler:
- His AI is bugged. He gets stuck on scenery A LOT.

This. All the bosses in world 2 are complete pushovers, (Armor Spider can be sniped, Flamelurker can just be evaded EASILY, and Dragon God is... Dragon God).WandererReece wrote:^ Flamelurker is the easiest boss in the whole game. You don't even need water veil. I honestly don't know why people claim he's hard.

Re: Any useful tips for Demon's Souls?
^ I'll admit, Flamelurker is one of the hardest bosses if you fight him legitly. I never snipe Armor Spider. I have more fun playing dodgeball.
