Do not feel that way. Ignorance is NOT bliss imo.

I'm a mortician and I can tell you life doesn't last as long as one might think.

Dont walk through life in a cloud<--which you do NOT appear to be doing. Dealing with the stress is hard...but look at right now. You got a bud/buds in this forum that will offer support, to a degree...there's only so much we could do ya know?<--not the point.

But you're gettin it out right? If you gotta just blow a load off in this forum, then fine. Sometimes things get worse before they get better. If you got something off your chest and it made you depressed, just realize it would've happened sooner or later. Shrug

Releaving the stress and getting it out is just right. Especially when you're dealing with serious illness and/or identity issues, just real life in general.

Get used to it young man, you have a loooong way to go. If I had to bet right now though, I'd bet you turn out to be a fine young man. At the very least, a good son.

Last but not least, dont feel guilty for getting depressed either. My line of work is depressing as he\\ sometimes, my son has autism, my dad has cancer....just dont let it take your hope Prayer , your shine Sun , your flavor :mask-averice: .

If you believe in Christ I recommend the Book of Job. If not, read a story about watching everyone around you win BUT you. Book of Job is better though lol, Satan has some pretty funny lines imo.

I suppose you're right Animaaal, i don't know why i'm even thinking like that, i'm usual more subjective to just about everything even if its personal, since i generally have good control of my emotions.

And actually i'd go so far to say some people on this forums have helped me far more than just about everyone I've met in real life, to who i'm talking to, you know who you are. Regarding depression, i don't know, i've never really been depressed, or atleast i don't think i have.

My mind has been wandering as of late, not necessarily depressed thoughts, but i'm normally much more focused, a'lot more focused actually. Though it hasn't effected my grades to much in school, still all A's and B's, just like last semester.

Maybe i'm afraid to dissapoint people? I always try to go far and beyond what people ask of me, for my extra credit report in history i turned it in a week early, but that is partially because i love history. Maybe i'm afraid to disapoint my mom while shes still here.

She wants me to be an eagle scout, which i intend to do, but i used to give her a hard time about scouts. Now though, i want to make her prouder than ever, but i'm afraid god forbid she pass, that she might think i'd just give up.

Because its normal. I know grown men who have problems with it. This wont be the last confrontation with it I assure you. The whole world is depressing. Its impossible to ignore and not deal with it while we're here I suppose. I also didnt mean to imply you were very depressed.

There’s nothing wrong with trying to make your sick mom happy, nothing at all. But you know she’d tell you to NOT do that at the cost of your own happiness.

    Also, you offended no one.

First of all, Animaaal, that's great news!

Demon, I saw you got some helpful advice already so I won't reply on that, but you can always Skype me if you need to talk some more.

Take care of yourself buddy, make sure you don't overwork yourself, especially not if you're suffering from depression. See if you have any vacation days left, go see a therapist. No one here wants to see you burnt out. Stay strong, fearless mod!

Today at gym class I started doing the "Well! What was it!" gesture all the time when people failed a lot, no one got it except for one who did the "Look Skyward" gesture.

I just got back from seeing my new endocrinologist, and apparently my thyroid is 3 1/2 times larger than it should be, and I've most likely been suffering from it for a long time. As in years. It only got worse these last few months and I really started noticing. Evidently it can cause anxiety, depression, detachment, lethargy, exhaustion, and irritability. Makes you wonder how much of my life has been under the influence of extra hormones. Like maybe I might have made some different choices. Kind of a mind f*** isn't it?

I can only mildly relate to that Plastic so yeah, it's gotta be a bug trip.

I used to pride myself on my athleticism. Took a few years off of regular exercise and when I get back into it, asthma......

Lead to: remembering many instances of endurance issues and breathing difficulty in my life that I figured were normal because hey....I'm athletic, everyone's lungs must do the same thing right?

Gets you thinking, how much better could I have been if I could you know.....breathe correctly

And that's nothing on the effects that hormones can cause when they're messed up. Fingers crossed for you.....you might be in feeling like a million bucks soon!

By that, I meant all of those different things that can generate from a large thyroid. How do they come together in conjunction? I don't know how to interpret all of those things coming from one problem. (sorry if my wording is terrible, I genuinely cannot think of better words right now, totally knackered.)

There's all kinds of other symptoms too. Tremors, skin problems, muscle weakness, sudden weight loss, mood swings, confusion, head aches, eye pain, sleep apnea/paralysis, etc. I've had about 90% of the symptoms in the last month. I've lost 50 pounds total now. The thyroid is a gland that releases hormones that in part regulate your white blood cells. Grave's disease, or hyperthyroid disease is when your thyroid grows abnormally large and too many of those hormones have been released into my body and confused my white blood cells, so they've been attacking and breaking me down. I'm attacking myself on a cellular level. It can affect all kinds of bodily processes. It's hereditary, and my mom had it, and nursed me when she was having severe symptoms but before she was diagnosed, so now I have it. The hormones only show up in your blood when your actually having symptoms though, so it's difficult to diagnose, which is why I've had it without being treated for so long.

Having that as hereditary.. Did you have that through school years? Or was it recent? If it was in school years too, I have no idea as to how you could manage like that.
