Getting into 1-3

I am using a toon I haven't used for a while, playing around and decided to kill the tower knight, when I killed him the fog lifted even though I hadn't got past the first world in any other area.
I'm on ng+ but thought you had to kill the end boss in another world before the fog would lift.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I had that as well on NG+.

Perhpas it checks your inventory for Boss Souls and opens if you have any?
It can always be just some bug/glitch.

I thought about having the boss souls but only had the maiden in black, and tower knight soul, guess its just a glitch.
Not that I'm complaining as Im just trying to get the magic trophy so it saves me some time.

I don't think it's a glitch as much as it is just an different feature unlocked on NG+'s. On the first runthrough there's such a huge difficulty gap from 1-2 to 1-3 that they likely put that Archdemon requirement in as an anti-frustration measure, but on NG+'s that doesn't matter because the player is already prepared, so they forgo that "safety net" and just let the player progress as they want.

Unless you include the maidan in black soul, then I didn'nt have an archdemon soul.

Never thought of her as an archdemon, well that's answered that question.
