I used to have a roommate who worked for a company that packaged food for the prison system, so he used to bring stuff home all the time. You think hospital food is bad. My god. I can't believe humans can be sustained on some of that stuff. Not only that, but he used to eat it all the time despite how bad it was. I guess being free is just too tempting to pass up, even if it can hardly be classified as food.

My hospital served BBQ chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables, oreo cream pies, turkey dinners, spaghetti and meatballs, etc. It served food I'd pay for at a restaurant, then again it was a pretty good hospital and since I had no issues like Diabetes I was allowed to eat anything off the menu.

I actually buy that there are probably some hospitals that serve pretty good stuff. Oddly one of the roommates I have now used to work in a hospital cafeteria, and he's a real cook. Was the head chef in a restaurant for years and years. I'm sure he made real food when he was there. Not sure why I made the connection to the prison food first, and totally forgot about that.
