PSN Dks fight club's goal

Sometimes I wonder where the world would be without my wise words.

Such as socks can be worn on your hands just as well as your feet, so if you don't have any gloves and your hands are cold, well just pop those bad boys on!

Another bajillion posts since I last checked this thread!

1. Reaper, Your build was pretty cool. But, AoE miracles are a bit too much in that small pit. In Sen's = no problem. It kinda pissed me off, TBH. That being said, I clearly have problems dodging WoG - you want to spar to let me get practice rolling through them?

2. To those rapier haters - I'm currently using an Estoc, and I don't purposely take advantage of lag. It is a great weapon, fast, and able to riposte with insane damage. But, it isn't nearly as powerful as many strength weapons, and it's reach isn't that huge (assuming normal lag). So, if we trade blows, guess who wins? Roll through the rapier and hit. Spears, OTH . . . those things piss me off, mainly is is because of their reach.

3. Yesu - PSN sucks, it is so slow and laggy. I won't have a computer available to Skype for another 2 weeks. But, anyone here can send me a request and we can hook up that way.

4. FC TV = Awesome!

I think that's it.

I also didn't dig much the AOE and miracle use specifically at the pit.

Google chat, Skype, it's all good. PSN makes me want to unchp things (LOL).

Its not that you are purposely taking advantage of the lag. its that, unlike any other weapon, you have to dodge rapiers before you see them attack or they hit you anyways. its similar with spears, you have like 1/10th of a second after you see them pause to dodge it.

at least for me. my connections fairly good though.

I remember being skewered by you too. Good distancing is critical. As is strafing and rolling to the side. Spears are far worse, IMO.

Spear? No. Not my thing. I used to off hand a spear, but that was mainly pokey-pokey. No strategy. Poke, roll, repeat. It felt cheap. A different kind of turtling.

At least with an Estoc, I can parry, R1-R2, R2, Run R1, purposely whiff into an R2 or parry, etc.

The only time I use a spear is Dragoid Ornstein, and I have an open off hand, no shield or anything. Plus I suck, so it's not really that bad haha.

I was only talking about how I used the off hand spear. Not how others used it. I felt cheap. But, others may have developed a strategy that I didn't employ. Merely talking smack about myself.

my tactic for spears is pressure. Admittedly my main is the iaito, but i never give them any space, and dead angle constantly if they turtle. i'll stamina break them if they don't drop the shield so when they do, i mual them. also remember that you're not likly to win a poise break contest but if you're using a buffed weapon, bait them into trading if possible, they'll poise break you on poke 2 0r 3 but you'll have done 1000+ damage first and they can't stunlock if you have any poise.

roll bsing the rather predictable poke pattern works well but, again, you have to be close.

if they're 2h bsing them is particularly easy.

All the fights we have make me so addicted to FC. Sometimes i really die fast like i have no chance, and sometimes i almost play perfect. Pants or no pants. Actually my first fight ever wiithout them!!!

One of the skilled players using spear in offhand was kingfisher,
In first big tournemant where joocy won i had problems getting summond. Thats why i only got to fight kingfisher (my old build) so i fought hil 3 times where i won 1 time and lost 2 times with almost no hp left. He s the one who got me stunned with hus spear. I see more people playing in FC with in offhand another weapon.
I tried but im rely on my stamina mostly

Yeah, he's pretty good at that. Last time I checked, he had a few builds with an off-hand spear.

The use of those heavy AoE things such as the GLGSD is something I've tried to learn with those builds, and I'm sorry it put you off a bit
I was by no means trying to abuse the arena as a way with that spell, but I will definitely say that the Blighttown Arena opens up alot more opportunities where the spell is useful. My general (but not universal) criteria for when I use the spell is something like this:

1. The opponent is more than 1 flip's distance away from me
2. The opponent is closer than 2 flip's distance away from me
3. My opponent is not able to break my poise with a rolling attack from their weapon
4. My opponent's back is to a wall, with no more than 1 flip's distance between them and the wall

If all of these are met, then I can usually safely start casting the spell and get it off without much fear of being hit out of it before the swords start coming out of the ground, and ensure that they will either be caught in the spell if they try to hit me out of it, or will not be able to punish the cooldown if they decide to simply backroll and avoid the spell.

The reason I said all that is because I want you to know that this is something I have tried to incorporate as a main spell. I did not take the spell purely as a way to abuse the small arena, just that the small arena opened up many more opportunities where the spell would work effectively. I would still take the spell to Sen's Rooftop Arena, but I would not have as many chances where it would be effective, and would likely cast it less as a result

As to WoG, you may have had trouble because I only really use it when I know my opponent is going to be locked into an offensive maneuver and won't be able to dodge (or at least if they do then it leaves me open to no punishment). Mostly this means I'm using it to trade blows with rolling attacks :|
I'd be happy to practice with you sometime, though tonight I don't think I'll be on much since I'm gonna be helping a friend get started in an MMO .

You were good at your timing with the WoG, no doubt. It was frustrating in a small arena, but it did show me I need to adapt to it. I need to get the roll timing down.

So... some people suggested a single area for FC. Who wants their say first?

1 area. That way, I only have to have 1 host.

I would like to vote Sens. Why because of the beautiful sun, bigger place. Invaders can easely be killed cause of the oneway entree! And you can run! Abd the bonfire is not that far away

This isn't a poll yet I just wanna know if there's enough want to require a poll, would you like just the 1 place I'm guessing?

What do you guys think about hosting 1 off in some random areas for special occasions? Or would this be too awkward to bother with?
