Help with Siegmeyer

I need someone to test out Option 2 of the endings of Siegmeyer's quest line because what happened to me is not written in the wiki.

Also if someone could test Option 1 because every time I try to test it out I *** up something and I'm unable to test it. Both EDITs there were from me.

As I understand it, if Seigmeyer is poisoned from the swamp he will die from it and thus end the questline. He has done this dialogue to me and died, and he has also done the "rest" dialogue and died anyway. Buggy npc lol

Both red texts after confirmed that say EDIT: blah blah blah are from my experiences. I was asking if it happened to someone else, and also if someone else has done the exact steps that says in the wiki and still got the ending that happened to me or the one the wiki says it should happen.

Also any idea about Option 1?

I believe the wiki entry is wrong. if he has above 50%hp he goes to ash lake where linde kills him while if he goes below 50% hp he dies. The one where he lives happily ever after has yet to be found, dont know who put it on the wiki.

This NPC reminds me of Ostrava because of the bugs. Like with Solaire, a lot of the paths get mixed up and don't react as they should... I have encountered the wiki ending and the ones you edited in. I can only assume it is unreliable.

The wiki entry was written by Wigriff but this was before the patches, which altered a number of flags for several NPCs.

If someone has a clear file to test the Siegmeyer line and can talk to his daughter only once and see if they reconcile please do so and confirm here later.

I liked the guy, so I went straight for him, talked to him, geez, the cwazy man jumped down and killed all but one before he died.

I have never finished the questline ive played throught the game 5 times now and the farhthest ive gotten is him in Anor Londo, but he always attacks me when I see him, any idea why?

No reason for that to happen, did you ever cast a pyromancy in his little room whilst fighting some Silver Knights?

Maybe one of your attacks hit him and aggroed him?

Afaik there's just three outcomes from his Izalith quest.
1 - Kill all the chaos eaters, then talk to him. He will give you the speckled ring as a gift, but will not show up in ash lake.
2 - Talk to him so he jumps down to fight them. If he finishes with LESS than 50% health, he will die and drop his usual stuff (speckled ring + humanity).
3 - Talk to him so he jumps down to fight them. If he finishes with MORE than 50% health, he will not give you any gift, but will move to ash lake if you rescue and talk to Sieglinde.

Having them both alive in ash lake is a myth afaik, Siegmeyer will always end up dead there to my knowledge (pictures or it didn't happen).
I have tried to leave the Hydra alive, and also kill it, prior to doing his quest. I have tried to not visit ash lake at all before sending him there, but the outcome is the same. I have also tried to talk to Sieglinde just once in Firelink, but she won't leave until I talk to her twice.

Just did this quest. Didnt go to ash lake until I did it. Talk to linde as little as posible. he did do something new though. At the end he was surprised i was still here and that I saved him again. he then ran to the stairs that lead out before sleeping. Every other time he's just slept in the swamp. However he still ended up dead. Hydra was alive.

No, quest ends with siegmeyer dying.

I've been trying on any character since I read it, at least 4 now,
possibly a miscounted five, and I've always gotten Siegelinde over his
corpse.
For the first time yesterday though, she said she "Found him and told him
mothers last words", Which is either the first time she's said that to
me, or a lapse in my memory, but when I talked to her again she gave the
usual "I'll just kill him again" line. As I was fuming when I found him
dead again at ash lake, I thought of some things:
1) Is it significant that she said she passed on the last words, and we
shouldn't speak to her again after she says that, (or I'm just forgetful
and she always says that?)
2) Has anyone ever tried explicitly having Siegemeyer kill the last
octopod? So that, in theory, he saved you, instead of you saved him,
that he always seems to say?
3) Has anyone tried using the Princess covenants AoE heal to be doubly
sure that he's above 50% HP and not dieing to the poison of the pit?

As for my most recent try, I fumbled and spoke with him before trying to
save/quit, (he gave the usual saved him line), and when I reloaded he
was still standing there looking asleep. Should I have tried speaking
with him again? Did my delay in quitting, or my failure to just return
to the last bonfire, cause the poison to drop his HP? Looking forward to
either finally getting this first ending of this questline, or just
outright killing all the octopods so I can start getting the ring on some of my
characters.
I also find the post about him running back up the stairs before sleeping interesting, I've never seen him do that before.

using Princess miracles on All NPCs, and even Phantom NPCs, work (except for those that are hostile to you). I am a Princess Guard, and can clarify this.

I have made him kill the Chaos Eater last, yes... Plenty of Times. Love to see his Lightning Weapon break the Chaos Eater to the ground.

The Daughter is evil... that is all the is really needed to be said. Ever asked her about how her father died? She seems cheery about it, killing her father.

He goes to sleep when he is finished killing the Octo guys, and you talk to him. He sleeps in the poisonous swamp for some reason... and doesn't get poisoned. Kicking him off of his ledge into the sewage does, however, and is ignored by other Chaos Eaters (yup)

Bugger. The healing thing and killing the last was the only real ideas of worth I had, I'm pretty sure the other one's just a lapse in my memory. From the sounds of it, I'd say you've also tried having him deal the last blow to all of them? After that, I'm just gonna start killing the pods myself, I need that ring on a few of my character builds, for theme purposes. Got plenty of *bleep*ing slabs by this point.
And yes I agree, the daughter is far too cheery about killing him >again<.
Honestly that creeped me out when I noticed it after the wiki pointed it out. She seemed so cheery. Now she's oh so creepy happy.

Let's be fair, she was put in a Crystal Golem for a reason... in the Forbidden Archives, where many never return from.

An XBL friend of mine (met through Dark Souls) claimed that he managed to have both of them alive in Ash Lake.

On a side note, someone apparently clipped through Sieg's helmet in Ash Lake and he is alive and human (although that might just be for coding purposes).

Well, Sith is just looney, that doesn't mean much that she was in a golem...Oolacile's sorcerer was in one as well, and she's most certainly not evil.
On another post, either here or in the wiki discussion pages, I remember reading someone saying they thought a patch that changed several NPCs flags may have broken this quest line. Which would fit in right nicely with Murphy's Law running my life, pursuing over and over on several characters a questline broken by a patch. Meh.

Hmm, so to get the ideal ending I would have to depatch my game start a new char, finish it and then patch 0.o yuck.

In theory. I have zero confirmation that's even valid information, I can't find the place where I saw it. I think its on the wiki, I'll look harder 2moro. And honestly, You only need to get the ring once.

Hello, I just registred to post this!
I tried to finish his quest using wiki, but it failed so I checked .pdf guide that I downloaded from internet and guess what? It says you need to speak to doughter before helping him in Blighttown! If you help him before speaking to doughter you are locked on him dying in ash lake! Please confirm.

I can confirm that at minimum on the new PC edition the pics of the guide that leizar provided are apparently as outdated as the rest of our information. I followed the instructions to the letter, and she still killed him. I swear, I'm just going to agree that she's evil, and start killing the octos without siegemeyer. At least he'll fuggin live.
