Suits, a fairly light hearted legal drama with a lot of banter. Only 2 seasons out, with the first being 10 episodes long and the 2nd is currently 9 in.
Aoi Bungaku, 12 episode series of anime conversions of classic japanese novels. Explores themes linked primarily with human nature.

Soul Eater and Baccano are good. Eureka 7 is my favorite, despite the giant robots though

As long as you're on Netflix and not explicitly asking for an anime, check out Breaking Bad.

Ok, I've said this at least 3 times, but I keep getting ignored or grazed over, so I'm now forced to say this in all Caps...
MUSHISHI!!!
It's an anime dealing with the supernatural in revolutionary era Japan, a couple of the episodes are for lack of a better word, awe inspiring!

Darker than Black was pretty good, if you can get into the story.
Castle is great for the back and forth between the two characters.

i hated castle.. for that kinda genre i prefer the mentalist, though the protagonists are very different i just find simon baker's character and the surrounding characters and story just more interesting.

Mushisui is great and as I recall was on Netflix at some point. Just got done with Claymore on Hulu, which is also brilliant. Been watching Sword Art, Campione, and Skip Beat on Crunchyroll.
TV wise waiting to start Breaking Bad when I get a chance. Finished up Walking Dead recently. Waiting on new Arrested Development which is the greatest comedy series I've seen. Worthy of a Netflix view.

Spice and Wolf is a really good one if you need a break from stuff like Berserk, plot is awesome and is unlike any I have seen before, it also sticks very close to the manga.

Like others said, Baccano! is a great series. I also personally enjoyed Darker than Black, Fullmetal Alchemist (brotherhood is probably better than the normal series), Soul Eater, One Piece, and Claymore. Baccano! and Darker than Black require watching a few episodes being completely confused before you start to understand them, and then they become amazing.
