The sword has an awesome name, sweet design, and overall looks intimidating. But everything about that backfires when you look at the puny damage it inflicts, it really needs to be buffed in the next patch. Seriously, I don't want a weapon created from a boss's soul to be weaker than the weapon I used to make it.

I think I got carried away, I got killed by Ornstein who apparently transformed into an armored Zeus because my phantoms were complete sissies, and that was my last humanity. I had to kill Solaire to get more.

Dude... Chaos Blade is not that great for PvE. Its power lies in humanity scaling, which is an unstable resource in PvE. It's a PvP weapon, it's meant to kill one enemy at a time. Also, of course a +0, newly made Demon weapon will be weaker than a +10. When we talk about weapon damage on these forums, we mean at max upgrade unless specified otherwise.

It also bleeds you out fast. In the forest, I saw someone buff the chaos blade, and I went running. Should've TWoP/WoG the glitcher though.

Builds that have buffs have a tendency to succeed more than pure dex/str from my experience.
But that's probably gonna change with everyone going SL99 instead of 100 for some reason.
Again, not gonna argue anything cause I feel if we do we're just going to go back and forth.

I agree that if you have a build with a buff the chaos blade is a horrible choice, but that doesn't mean it is always a horrible choice, it is the best katana for a build that doesn't have a buff.
I don't like buffs once it runs out that is it. And it is real easy to turtle some ones buff.
We are both right, but you prefer buff builds and I prefer no buffs.

Right now I'm using a Chaos Washing Pole+5 that i got from an awesome phantom.
Oh, and I almost forgot about the Humanity scaling, it scales with both Dexterity and Humanity? Again, i overreacted, its a nice weapon.

on a side note i went back to iaito just to have it's awesome r2. cblade is still awesome and does all the thing everyone above me says- minus having a pretty bad r2... its like a wannabe iaito 1h r2.

The important thing is the Uchi/WP running attack. Also I like the Uchi R2 more the Liato's... where as it seems many people are the other way around... am I really alone?

The Uchigatana's R2 is a lot better than the Iaito's, the Iaito's is slower, besides the uchi does a better job than it.

If I could have the Iaito's 1H R2 and the Uchi's 2H R2, I probably wouldn't use many other weapons. Ever.
Iaito's R2 is awesome for dead angles and its horizontal hitbox. And looking boss. The Uchi's 2H R2 I just like because it's got a weird *** phantom hitbox that seems to extend to about double the sword's actual length. I hit people from MILES away with that sh*t.

Oh, I know. It's reeaaalllllly slow.
But like I said, it also connects from ridiculous distances, which is the sole reason I like it. It's a good attack to use after getting a BS.
