Barbed SS Lifehunter

Need suggestions for this build. Poise is not a problem since I'm using a SS and shield. Could buff a Sunlight SS with DM Blade and use the occult Barbed as backup when DM Blade fades.

I need to know if the Sunlight SS has the R2 thrusting attack. The Barbed SS lacks it and I'm considering ditching the whole idea.

The SSS has the same r2 as the longsword, 1h it is a turst 2h it is the horizontal sweep.

Why not buff a BSS if you want a trust so bad?

Cause BSS is easy mode. So damn OP I just hate it lol.

Thanks for the info I might consider it. Maybe as my buff runs out I could use an occult Estoc or Longsword.

Well the SSS is virtually the same, the second R2 isn't a trust but the first is, and I doubt you'd two hand often with a pure faith build.

the BSS can't help it if it's moveset is Gwyn's greatest gift to mankind.

actually I'm curious myself. I know the Longsword and SSS have the trust attack 1hr2 I wonder what if any other straight swords have it, and why on earth is the BSS such a standout simply because of a poke.

Because of lag baby. I'm wondering what's the Crystal SS's moveset.

It's not just lag, trust attacks are just generally good. They seem to do comparably more damage, have less recovery frames... they just so good.

I think the Crystal SS is the broadswords moveset, but it *might* be the longswords. I can check in like 4 minutes

Yeah and lag helps thrusting attacks to connect phantom hits and even ignore some i-frames.

It's listed as Regular/Trust so it probably has the longsword r1.

Crystal SS has the exact same moveset as the SSS the 1hr1 and 2hroll are trusts.

Too bad crystal is un upgradable at all. Could use it for the buff, and occult the SSS?

Yeah that could work, but 16 Str is a bit expensive. Not a big difference on stamina sacrifice, thanks Jans.

i have been messing around with a similar idea, am not sure what to do weapon wise, am finding the barbed sword to be lacking....also trying the morning star and the mace....

have made better armour combos to reach 56 poise but i like how this one looks...
really don't know what weapons to use....have played with the haldberg don't really like the moveset

Maces/Axes and the Barbed SS/Broadsword movesets are very difficult to connect in PvP. Try the SSS or better still the BSS if you're new to swords. For the build lower Faith to 30 and change lightning spear for a WoG.

hmmm yeah, i havent used swords very often, have been using great scythe almost exclusively for a while now.....i am keen to mess around with less utilised weapons and things for fun....
will try swag sword though, hear so much goodness about this sword, should have a go

I too was skeptical of the BSS. I mean a drop off those derpy knights from the second area in the game? It's base AR is only meh and it's scaling isn't the best among dex weapons. But man oh man the moveset is like pointy vorpal intercourse. It just feels great. It's a comfortable weapon.

about the Morningstar. The jump attack is really good. and the 2hr1 is at least not cumbersome.

I dunno guys with all the hate going around for my boy Kirks favourite weapon....I gotta say I have been using a chaos barbed sword on my sl 55 lately and I am destroying dudes...its a turtles worst nightmare!!!!

Kicks my friends kicks are your friend...kick R2 R2 700 dmg and there about to bleed....keep the presure on with a few more hits bang they bleed out and die...also the 1H R2 is a stupid good setup parry seriously I've landed more than I can remember!!!

And if I can't kill you better hope there's not a ledge around...cuz ill kick you off that
