Halo 4 A new trilogy Empty Halo 4 A new trilogy

Post by Mr. Tart Fri Oct 19, 2012 9:46 pm

I'm surprised no topic has even been made of this yet. So yeah, decided i'd make it. Who's getting it? What's your thoughts on it so far?

Personally i'm looking forward to it as a gamer, but as a halo fan i fear it might not follow the classic halo feel that it once had. I fear it might be going into the mainstream gaming as well, not that it wasn't already. Just kinda worried it's gonna be f*cked up. Still, pre-ordered the Limited Edition.

It looks great and I'm buying it the chance I get.
And by "buying" I mean "stealing it from my friend."

I bought an XBox just so I could play Halo as I'd heard it was 'awesome', although it had been out about 12 months. Loved it and have played every 'Halo' since and will definitely be getting 'Halo 4'. I just hope the single player campaign is as good as all the others because I don't play online and I really, really hope that the Master Chief never removes his helmet because I want him to remain a mystery. I say this because the trailer shows his face as a young man which worries me somewhat.

I'm not the biggest Halo fan, though I do like the games and have played through all of them even if I only own 2.

But what has me interested in 4 is the post-Bungee direction that the series will take. I am intrigued.

They're gonna turn it into Cod. Milk the name ''Halo'' and leave it to the dogs. (THAT'S GONNA HAPPEND TO COD THE DAY ALL KIDS UNDER 10 DIES OUT.)

As was said, i'm worried as a halo fan, but even then, as a game itself it looks promising. I wouldn't give up on it just yet though, it's not even out yet. So i'm just hoping my feeling is wrong.

The "flood" mode looks pretty good and the infected players look like they belong in Doom or something.

Yeah i like the idea behind it. I actually thought about(wouldn't surprise me if most did) changing the infected gametype into an actual flood gametype back when the infected gametype was first released. I'm kind of disappointed though, because of the exact thing you just pointed out. It doesn't look like it's the flood at all.

Well everything is redesigned for Halo 4.
But still, it's no reason for putting a Hell Knight in Halo.

So has anyone spent a thought on how co-op is gonna be like in the campaign?

Back in Halo 1 and 2 you both looked like MC. In Halo 3 there was MC, Arbiter and 2 different elites. In ODST you were both...well ODSTs. So what's your thought on the co-op in Halo 4? I personally believe that we're going to be playing as some random spartan. Shrug

I'm thinking about getting it, but of course I'm going to plug in my 4 year old xbox that sounds like a woodchipper to play it. To be honest I might wait a bit to play it, but I don't know. I'm very mixed with this new Halo game coming out.

I've just read the review on gamecentral@metro.co.uk and it's mainly positive, so I'll be getting it at some point. It seems though that location wise it is still 'more of the same' which is a bit disappointing. I've always thought that the settings in the Halo series have been the least satisfactory aspect of the games. Not alien looking enough. The first time I saw the landscape in the first Halo I thought it looked like the Lake District in England and I was hoping this new lot would come up with something a bit different. I'm glad 'the flood' aren't in it as far as I can tell, they gave me the willies.

Technically they are. There's a gamemode known as Flood Mode. It's just a better version of Living Dead. But otherwise, they shouldn't appear at all, atleast not until Halo 5 or 6. Atleast. And i doubt it even then. Shrug

I just hope there won't be any camping spots in Halo 4. Just played some Halo: Reach, and all one of the guys on the enemy team did, was get the sniper, fly out of the map, and just camp. The only way to get to him was through the front, which lead to an instant death. :x
