most of us know that dark souls is not hard because of the damages or health of mobs and bosses... it is hard because the first time you play you dont know their movesets and how to counter their attacks... later on you recognize their openings...
this became evident to me when the dlc came out... i had not been challenged by the monsters in dks for so long and then we met the guardian... i ran in and attempted this beast and died the first 4 times... its then i realized that really you cannot have a dmg vs health type of easy mode for dark souls because thats not why dark souls is hard
now as i continued to think about it I realized that dks already had an easy mode... its called the master key.. it allows you to skip multiple hard areas of the game (capra demon, depths, top of blighttown(*** you blighttown), and even allowed you to open doors that would require you to go find another key
another version of easy mode in dks is the ability to summon phantoms... 3 ppl vs 1 boss is a joke and even my grandmother could beat this game by summoning phantoms in every area because they are experts at the boss and the level
so next souls game doesnt need an easy or hard mode it just needs refinement of these already availble "easy modes"!!
