    Has anybody tried finishing off Both Smough and Ornstein with the same attack by whottling their health down to near zero and hitting them with a WoG?

    Some people have tried to kill O&S simultaneously, but nothing special came of it. You still have to fight one of them in the second act, although who you fight is a bit random afaik.

    My 'no hollow npc' run also failed. I chose to aggro Sieglinde on her second appearance in firelink, but managed to hit Siegmeyer in Lost Izalith (which means sieglinde won't appear again). I could have absolved, but that would have made all the npcs resume their missions sad

    In reference to Lautec: On my second playthrough, I went to Blighttown instead of the Undead Burg to ring the bell. When I returned to the Firelink Shrine, the firekeeper was dead. I then went to Lautec's prison cell to find that he was not there.

    Hypothesis: Ringing EITHER of the two bells before freeing Lautec will result in Lautec freeing himself and killing the firelink shrine's firekeeper.

    Welcome to the forums Hade!
    Lautrec's story is actually based on the fire keeper souls but ging to Btwon can mess it up and he'll do what you saw. However going to the burg first requires you to take the firekeeper souls on the latar in the parish and in Btown before he kills the keeper. Regardless of whether you take the parish soul or not, if you ring the first bell he will free himself.

    First up some back story:
    First playthrough with Pyromancer and Master Key. Following Spellwarrior and walkthrough on gamefaqs while being as completionist as possible.
    So here's what happened...
    Petrus was exhausted of dialog before I went to catacombs and I had obtained a pendant from a brief stint in the Forest Hunter covenant while getting the RoF & DWGR. I had taken vengeance on Lautreac then rezzed the Firekeeper he killed before this happened.
    After killing Seath and Logan, I did the Catacombs. When I got back I sent the first pyro teacher off to go hollow and bought all Reah's stuff.
    Dialog at this point was Petrus being distracted and Reah saying she didn't blame him for leaving her to her frailty.
    After killing a boss in Demon Ruins she appeared hollow with Petrus still at Firelink. I wish I hadn't killed her as when I got back Petrus was grieving her death...
    NG+ I will avoid fighting her and return to Petrus to see if he is still just lost in thought... or maybe decides to mount a rescue! winking
    Anyway, there was no pendant on her as expected if killing her when hollow but in terms of story, according to my game the only reason to supect Petrus is the comment that he is "drenched in sin"... as far as I can tell his sin is cowardice and I'm wondering if there is a was to absolve him?

    If she doesn't appear hollow in the Duke's she'll be dead at the church instead. If you talk to Petrus he'll essentially confess, and if you kill him he will have her Ivory Talisman, letting you know he definitely killed her.

    So if I kill Petrus now then in theory he should not have the Ivory Talisman since I already looted it from Reah in Duke's Archives?

    When I speak to Petrus he just says he's distracted still but adds now that it is because of grief.

    My memory is a bit murky on the details of Petrus and Reah. Must Lautrec tell you what happened before Petrus confesses, or is there another way to make him? The last few times I have done the quest, Latrec have either been dead or in Anor Londo, and Petrus have not confessed after Reah is killed.
    Also, let Petrus kill you after he confesses, and you'll get a bit more evidence from his dialogue.

    I think he just confesses after he kills her, I believe I've done it without Lautrec but it's been a while.

    I'm pretty sure he has confessed without lautrec as well, but i think that was before the patch. I'll try again on another playthrough.

    Probably a dead end then.
    Just as a side note though, not sure why but since getting the pendant I seem to find a lot more bloodstains...
    This could be due however to also playing more as human since then or due to more players with the release of the PC version.
    Not sure if PC players affect XBox game but blood staines definitely show "fond memories"! ^^

    Hello all,
    I've read through this thread and I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere and made an account to throw it in. I too noticed the two resonance rings in the Catacombs on my PS3, which startled me because I had never run into them the entire game prior to that. In my experience in fighting the bonewheel skeletons I have noticed that if I remain inside or near the entrance to the small tunnel that leads to the ravine and one of the skeletons rolls at me and I block the roll they will occasionally drift to one side of me and if they continue rolling past me they can run into a corner in the tunnel right before the resonance rings and roll through the tunnel wall. I figured it might just be a glitch but when they pass through it takes them a good 10 - 20 seconds to die and grant me their souls.

    Hello to you all! I'm VERY interested in the things you find here, particularly the 'Pendant' gift.

    Now I was very curious that all the myth about the pendant came from Hidetaka Miyazaki, who said that a player's starting gift should be either the pendant or nothing, here's whats got me curious, why nothing? I made some theories, like 'nothing' is actually something, that maybe unlock 'something' in the late game or even NG+.     Let me explain my thoughts about this. When you start a new game, that you play for the first time, you want your experience to be raw, pure, without any spoilers, gifts are essentially either helping tools or spoilers for lore and whatever there is to it, if its your first time playing DS and you want to play it 'clean' then you should pick no gift at all, or... the pendant? As I see it, the pendants description is very accurate, for when you will pass your first game, and reach NG+, it may remind you of how naive you were, and what mistakes you made, and all those times where you couldn't pass this one boss, and you thought that you will never beat this game, I think the pendant is made only for the player, to bring the player abit of nostalgia.

    Of course that will also explain why he advices you to pick master key on your second-third playthrough, it is well known to be a MUST-HAVE item for experienced players, that know what they do, where to go, who to kill. They no longer need the pendant, for they already been through all of this.
    So yes, I think the pendant is made purely for the player, specifically for new player to DS.

    Sorry if I might have let down some of you guys, still, its my humble opinion, and I might be greatly mistaken here. Hahaha...

    You can get the Master Key aswell the Pendant in the first playtrough.You can buy the Master Key from a Merchant under a bridge at Firelink I think.

    I tried to push ( by kicking ) Reah to Petrus after i saved her from the tombs, it's hard because she keeps walking to her original spot but talking with her makes her stop moving until she finish. I made her reach the elevator just so that she teleports back to her original spot, i made sure that this is not a glitch and pushed her again and when she reached the elevator it happened again.
    Maybe push her all the way through the red dragon and the first boss to the firelink shrine so that she face Petrus? To be honest i think it'll be a waste of time.

    hi, i just started to see this kind of pages and i was getting addicted

    i was thinking perhaps there is something to do in the Serene Graveyard, at the grave of Artorias the Abyswalker.

    I read that when someone stopped at the grave for a while where Ceaseless is, he wont be agroo. So i thought if someone try to go and put the swords build by the Soul of Sif, or even dropping the Soul of Sif (don't know if u can drop them) and see if something happens...

    I cant try it couse im at middle of NG+ and allready killed Sif so..

    This might sound crazy but, did anyone try to stay long enough in the cell before escaping? There are events in the game that happens after time have passed (like the one with the crow taking you back). Maybe the person who will put the doll there will show up and some crazy secret cutscene will show up if stayed long enough there?

    Don't know if anyone posted this idea before... Forum is too large to read everything hahaha... Has anyone ever tried killing everything in the game without resting at a bonfire...? All bosses, Enemies and NPCs... Wondered if maybe killing Gwyn with everything in the entire game dead would do something cool... Maybe I'm wrong but seems like you can get pretty much everywhere without warping...
