But the areas reset, so even if you aren't warping/resting, the mobs will come back.

has anyone else notice that there are a lot of unarmored players lately in the game? I'm around lvl 150, about to end NG+...
And i have seen a lot of bloodstains, ghostly players, that are hollowed, no armor, just a weapon and a shield running around, dying of stupid ways (almost all of them jumping from a cliff or something like that)
does someone know whats about that? and I'm asking because its the only online interaction i have lately, only naked hollowed people carrying a weapon and a shield

armor isn't rendered for the ghost / bloodstain phantoms of other players, only their weapon type (for example all greataxes look like the regular great axe even if the person is using a black knight great axe) and shield type (all greatshields show up like eagle shields etc.) that and their hair style.

Pygmy Info
Hi everyone i didnt read to the last page i was on the first one and someone asked about the pygmy, well idk if some one answered it yet but the pygmy is actually "Man" and the soul he claimed is known as the dark soul or "humanity". The game says the Pygmy is our ancestor which is true because we are Human so the Pygmy took the dark soul and split into sprites called humanity establishing the human race

About secrets
I just came up with the idea of "secret walls" and bosses and stuff.. Have anyone ever tried to join all the covenants and gain rank +3 on them with single character? Or has anyone ever killed Vamos and upgraded his pickaxe to max and tried to break walls? I mean he's breaking a wall with that pick in the cutscene..
These may be just my stupid thoughts, but to me, they don't actually sound that impossible..

But you get his hammer, not a pickaxe when you kill him.

Has anyone tried to upgrade Orsntein's spear to max and wear leo ring, then go to Sen's and try to break the boulders behind the rock throwing giant..? Cuz Leo ring says it's possible to break even boulders to half..

While exploring the Blighttown swamp I came across an interesting find.
I do not know if people have discovered this before.
In the circle-shaped room filled with leeches, left from Onion guy, there is a crack in the wall with which looks like white light for a boss door. I do not know how to explain it exactly,so I put up 2 pictures with it.

Does anyone know anything about this?
I really want to believe that that is the entrance to the town seen from the Firelink Graveyard...

What's the highest playthrough that people have gotten to? I've been hearing a lot about how blood appears on the wall in the Undead Burg tunnel...maybe that's more than a random texture glitch, maybe things actually start changing the more times you beat the game. Perhaps that's the reason there's still some secrets that have apparently not been found, cause people have hit NG++++++++++ or something =/
I could actually see that...the more plays you do, the more the whole "time distortion" aspect fades. Would be a good element of the game lol.

Hi, i am new here.
I was reading through all the post and haven't found anyone mention anything about this special item in the Interview.
"Dark Souls interview – Secret items and design philosophies for the PC’s Prepare to Die Edition"
GR: How many hours will players have to dedicate to get the best new item?
DU: I’m not sure if we’re talking about that at this point – but there’s actually an item in the game…it’s not the most superior, it’s not the most powerful or anything like that, but it’s one of the more “special” ones. It’s special in the sense that is has a negative influence upon the player. [laughs] How it acts as a negative…hopefully, players will try to find out. But in order to get that item, you have to defeat a boss who’s unbelievably hard to kill. By defeating him, you’ll get that negative item. That’s probably one of the harder things to get in the game, and it’ll probably take the most time to try and find and use it. We’re hoping that players will be able to achieve that and use it for themselves.
Anyone know what special item are they talking about?

I think it's the calamity ring from killing kalameet.

I've wondered about that damn calamity ring... i mean, does anything special happen for using it, or is it just another goof like the pendant...
i mean i guess using the calamity ring, through a whole play through, is essentially opting for a hard difficulty mode in dark souls, i guess... :suspect:

I know the consensus seems to be that the Pendant is a sort of joke and has no use or effect, but I did have one thought today that I thought I'd share. Apologies if this idea has been posted before here or elsewhere.
Today I got to the point in Rhea's storyline where she turns hollow and attacks you from a cell in the Duke's Archives. I felt tremendous sadness as I put her down. Then I recalled that if you let her die in the Parish she has a Pendant on her corpse, which of course is absent from her corpse when killed in the Archives.
So I was thinking: what if you don't kill Rhea in the Archives? What if you close her cell door and lock her in there forever and not kill her at all? What if you drop a Pendant in her cell with her before you do? Maybe something happens--perhaps when you roll over to NG+?
I know it's a long-shot but has anyone let her live, or tried anything like this?

hi i'm new here and i don't know if this has already been discussed, due to the fact i didn't know how to word my search. but i have noticed a huge excess of people saying that they may not be able to unlock some things untill they've done numerous playthroughs. and the only thing i can put it down to is needing a certain amount of items that can't be ammassed through 1 playthrough, i was thinking could this item be fire keeper souls? like just don't use them? and find some use for them. i am probably way off, but i think if anyone can be bothered it may be worth investigating

also how about killing every mob in the game because if you dont rest the enemies will not respawn either that and the pendant could be used with my former idea

Has anyone noticed the strange books near the Duke's Archives warpable bonfire? When you exit the bonfire balcony and head to the left side of the room I noticed there is odd-looking books in the bookshelf. They're not in same position as other books, they lay "between" the shelf and they look like you could possibly press X or the action button in front of it.. First i saw one book, then i went around the whole room and killed mobs and came back and there was another book appeared next to the column and "library ladder".. Wonder what are they?
