Sorry i dont see the issue here :|

That is the issue, being able to fend them off doesn't equal a 1 hit KO and if he can't take out the host in 1 hit then the host will just heal himself over and over while his phantoms distract and chip away at the invaders life.

It doesn't even make sense to be able to use Estus in the first place, like I said the estus comes from the bonfire and the bonfire shuts off when you get invaded, so why does the estus still heal you? It should lose it's power once you get invaded.

Pretty sure the flask doesn't act as a router to the bonfire.

the fact that you get more estus whenever a bonfire in the area gets kindled by another player says it does

Perhaps you guys are right. I don't spend much time in PVP to get good
enough due to the fact that the lag factor is so frustratingly prominent
in the Souls games. Perhaps you guys haven't experienced it as much as I
(I have a very fast internet connection too), but I've died way too
many times from lagstabs or from being hit from several feet away when I
    thought I had dodged.

Maybe if I had spent more time in PVP, I could have learned how to compensate for it. I dunno.

On invader healing, they certainly don't need more options. Maybe even take away healing altogether, that seems to be what developers intended, but left in humanity as something rare that couldn't be used frequently. Yet, it ended up easily farmable.

Players just need to learn to use lloyd's and deal with low health is my opinion.

And divine blessings were fine as they were meant to be collected, five max per playthrough, they are completely unbalanced for actual PvP. A decent player was basically invincible with a reasonable source of divine blessings.

Perhaps. The thing is that I'm a heavy pvper in other games, and was really looking forward to the concept. The lag issue really chased me away though.

While I do think that adding some different animations and abilities while dual wielding weapons would be cool, one thing on my wish list is that they don't make it really viable.

I think dual wielding viability should scale with dexterity, you would have to be ambidextrous to dual wield in real life anyway right?

Oh and let you decide whether your'e right or left handed at the beginning of the game, it can't be too hard to mirror the animations. Then Again I know nothing about that lol.

Players reluctance to use them isn't really a reason to scrap them, and though I shared that reluctance. But, just leave it in, I know players who in a tough spot utilized them before they were abused, I knew players who would buy them from other players since they were so reluctant to use them. They are fine as vanity items, leave them as that or scrap em, and the way I see it, may as well leave them.

No. It says a bonfire in the area was kindled by another player. It's a gameplay mechanic.

The Undead treasure these dull green flasks.
Fill with Estus at Bonfire. Fills HP.
The Estus Flasks are linked to the Fire Keepers. The Dark Tales also make reference:
An emerald flask, from the Keeper's soul
She lives to protect the flame,
And dies to protect it further

Well then the estus flask acts as a router because it's a gameplay mechanic -_-

But I found the answer for why it works during invasions in the item description anyway. It's because of the fire keepers.

I think limiting heals to 20 with the estus was great for Dark. Perhaps they can just limit invaders to the same amount-20 being about right.

Also, critical attacks, such as backstabs should be mapped onto the controller rather than randomly getting them when you attack normally at a chance angle.

Such as map it as pulling back on the movement stick and hitting R2, like the opposite of a jump attack, where the player then executes a quick step and an attack that is easily blocked and causes massive recoil if it is not a hit.

This would stop people from randomly getting backstabs in the middle of rolly poly duels, and instead force players to knowingly commit to trying to get a critical, like when the other player is running away or parried.

I consider running and hiding behind enemies just as bad as ganking, but that's just me though. Had a guy Invade me in the Abyss and then hide amongst the humanity ghosts near manus while he spammed sorceries. This was before the latest patch too, so I didn't even have a clue what hit me, though I'm pretty sure it was pursuers.

Then again no one expects invaders to fight honorably, so to each his own I suppose.

Honor is a really dumb concept.

I've played dark souls since release, I always felt in invasion situations anything goes. When I'm actively trying to duel, in dueling areas, and other players heal or something, I don't belabor the point, and I just try a little harder to beat them, and maybe use one of my own dirty tricks (like my perfect chainstab). There isn't any real honor.

If your'e Pvping then you probably plan to stay at soul level 120 or whatever, in which case you don't need the extra souls and you can farm humanity easily enough. So if you chainstabbed a guy or wogged him of a cliff, or spammed dark bead, it's because you felt like it, you didn't need to, you just felt like it. You have nothing to win or lose, so you lose nothing by fighting honorably. It's not like your life is in danger or anything, it's just a game, so I don't understand why you'd go for an easy victory? I don't think easy victories are fun.

If you enjoy playing like that, then by all means go ahead. But don't tell me that the way I play is stupid.

I'm not saying I use those tactics.

I generally play on quality melee builds, and avoid backstabs and reserve them for when someone tries to backstab bait me.

I'm just saying, I don't get upset when others use the tactics. Learn how to beat them.

I generally play on quality melee builds, and avoid backstabs and reserve them for when someone tries to backstab bait me.

I'm just saying, I don't get upset when others use the tactics. Learn how to beat them.

Admittedly I suck at pvp, I've watched all of ENB's videos but I still can't do half the things he says. That being said I don't have a problem with the things most people consider "cheap", I dislike them, but I don't let losing to those tactics ruin my day, dying is after all apart of the game.

the only time I ever got pissed off was this time when I laid down a RSS in the kiln and got Dark Bead to the face as soon as I spawned, that was just rude sad

Anyway, this was about healing. I just think that it's only fair that if a host can heal then the invader should be able to too.

Back in Demons everyone had the same fast Healing Method so there was no Issue about Healing .
What doesnt make sense to me is that the Phantoms get Healed from the Estus .

You're supposed to be responsible for your phantoms when you invite people to help in your world. They can't heal (unless they use a spell), so you have to heal them. It adds to the challenge and evens out the fairness when a BP invades.

It seems to confuse people though because I've died countless times due to players not paying attention and not healing me. I can't fight for you if I'm dead, dummy.
