Re: Ravens of the Great Wolf
so after beating Manus' face in last night i decided to do some hunting. turns out, the forest is probably the best place to be against dark magic. the trees and bushes interfere with pursuers/dark bead a ton. still came out with 12 kills (out of 15) though lol.

Yeah that happens, get creative when you get the same people over and over, see how many different ways you can kill them

Re: Ravens of the Great Wolf
I just keep a distance for a few seconds with the fog ring on then power within and make them pay for ganking in my forest

Re: Ravens of the Great Wolf
Perhaps the forest is not the best idea, due to the frequency of invasions, and the difficulty of invading a spicific person.(even with the RSS) Might I suggest somewhere more subtle, like the township? From the Trading and Player Help section, it seems that alot of people have trouble with Kalameet, and with some of the little areas being circular, it might be good for a KOTH game.

Re: Ravens of the Great Wolf
you may want to do izalith. i know it sounds stupid but you hardly get any invaders or people there so once you've connected to the people it would get easier and you'd know whose gonna connect to who.

Re: Ravens of the Great Wolf
almost finished with my 120 caster toon, SL117 atm. since i have the important stats outta the way, i'm putting a bit into strength and dexterity so i can try out moonlight butterfly horn and moonlight greatsword. i can two-hand the greatsword (i have 14STR atm) and i gotta say...i'm loving it!
i haven't ever made an INT build, so i'm having a lot of fun experimenting with different sorceries and INT weapons. i'm also growing quite fond of Velka's rapier.

Re: Ravens of the Great Wolf
Until now, I had never used the pike, and I decided "hey, it has a low dex requirement, and its long...So I went down to the demon ruins, killed CD, died three times to taurus demons(well, more being knocked into lava from blocking their swing, this is my STR build, btw), and finally unequipped all my weapons, put on smough's armor(except for body), and charged into the lava, grabbed the chaos ember, and got back out with a sliver of life left. I breezed through the catacombs, and went over to ol' Bony, and got a chaos pike. So as I was on my way to the forest from the parish bonfire, I somehow end up using the running attack on one of the ents. When that happened, my jaw hit the floor. That's probably the second coolest move in the game(next to the abyss greatsword forward-lowflying-frontflip-vertical-swordsmash attack) The next time I face a tank in the forest...I'm totally running this thing up their-so yeah, and it's really long...I like it.

Re: Ravens of the Great Wolf
The spell swordsman I'm working on at the moment will look like this when she is finished.
http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=138601630174888589
Though she will have +15 greencreast, +5 moonlight sword, and all +5 paladin armor with dusk helm for magic damage. At the moment a dark wraith invaded me in forest and I one hit him with white dragon breath. I believe he was expecting a different spell. I also waited at the gate one time and used chaos storm as a red invader popped in, just mildly trolling the forest this morning. Only mildly.

Re: Ravens of the Great Wolf
You hold the spear by the back end and charge forward. It hits at least 6 times, and generally ravages zero-poise builds, albeit each hit only does about 90-something with my chaos pike +4, but I got behind someone once in a gank squad, and it hit for over 600. Thats more than a backstab. I also use the leo ring, so it does 120-something if its a counter. regular 2h stab does around 270 without counter bonus.CappuccinoJak wrote:what's the running attack on the pike? i've never used, i only upgraded it for the butterfly horn.

It gets even better with a crystal one on a 40/40 build
