I'm going to be attempting Vagata's one shot challange, and I'll be doing this a lot, so I'll be making a log of everything I do here. I'm planning on trying to use Sorcery to accomplish this, mixed with the power within and red tearstone ring items. So the first thing I need to do is get my hands on the spell power within, and get my hands on the red tearstone ring. Once I have both of them, I will pump any and all level I get into inteligience. the 3 attunement slots I start with is enough to do this challenge, because I'm only allowed to cast a spell once or twice at most, otherwise I forfeit the challenge.
When I'm fighting bosses, I only have one question.
If I hit the boss twice, and it's not dead... is that game over, or could I kill myself and, presuming I think I can improve my damage, try again?
I'm starting my character now, below this point I'll have in spoilers what I've accomplished, and a complete order of operations.
I've another question: Smough and Ornstein, what is considered a hit on them? It's literally impossible to beat them in less then 2 hits due to the way the fight is set up. So is only 1 level available, or do my two hits start with when they go super mode?

Firelink Shrine
My
first order of business was to grab the Zweihander as it was going to
be my tool for the beginner levels. It was nothing special, the usual
"circle run" to grab the Zweihander without any worry, although this
time I didn't kill the first skeletons that spawned, which did give me
an uneasy feeling when I had to pass them a second time. Nevertheless,
it went off without a hitch.
Valley of Drakes
*Note: I grabbed the Estoc in New Londo as I came here.
My
next order of business was the Valley of Drakes to get the RTSR.
Normally, I don't speedrun my way to it, but this is a 1-shot challenge
run...so. Well, I try to pass by the first drake and get caught in
between its wing and tail while it was breathing lightning. I don't
quite remember the details but I did get a nasty breath of lightning
which luckily only hit once. Once I struggled to get over its tail I ran
off and stopped mid-way for Estus. Was so not taking another hit from
them. The rest of the path came off as adrenaline rushing, what with
dodging the 3 drakes and hoping they don't kill me as I climb the
ladder. Went fine at least.
Blighttown
Now for Power
Within. I take the shortcut and start backtracking up. I try to be
careful about being poisoned as I don't know how long I'll last with it.
I get across the swamp without poison, but as I try to climb up a
spider blocks my path -.- While I'm trying to get it to move I have 2
others behind me and suddenly I get toxic (THAT BLOWDART!). Well, I
eventually suceed to get through, but not before toxic kills me as I try
to reach the top.
Second go, not the same as the first! This
time I cleverly dodge the blowdart by baiting the spider to simply
follow me off the ramp up. I succeed and quickly make my way up only to
notice the blowdart in front of me (Don't know whether he spawns there
or he just moved). DODGE! Backstab! Victory!. Okay, okay. I make my way
and cross the fog gate. So now I punch the first deformed guy off the
ladder he was blocking and dodge the fat giant thing. While on my way to
kill the tick, in the cavern where there are 2 deforms, I realize that
they really are blocking my way and I can't get across, or so I though.
I
did manage to get across after 1 took a bite off my HP that put me in
RTSR and I panicked and just spammed roll and what not. Run across the
other, YES! Ladder, YES! Blowdart? Die, unfortunately I knock him off
the platform, but he strangely didn't die as I expected. Tick, oh no, Why won't you DIE!.
Seriously, I had spammed fireball and I had no idea how much I was
doing and was increasingly worried those 2 deforms were following me. I
just assumed it had resistance to FIRE and just smacked it once with my
hand axe; dead, VICTORY!
Grab the spell, grab the spell. Oh no! A
deformed was waiting for me! Oh no, the blowdart I knocked off is right
there assisting him. Homeward, WHERE is it!? I dodge an attack from the
deformed and get stung with a blowdart that at least didn't toxic me.
Come on, where is- I got it. GO, GO, GO! Blowdart misses and I get away
just before the deform goes in for the finish.
Did I mention I was at the brink of falling off the platform as well? Talk about a tight spot.
Undead Burg
No
big news here. Bought the reinforced club and residence key from the
merchant, then proceeded with the level. Skipped Havel and went to
reinforce this thing before I moved on (to +5). Homewarded back.
Flawlessly executed a riposte on the Black Knight in full hyper-mode. It
died (1 level gained). Next, Taurus. 1 shotted (1576 damage or so) with
the plunging attack, obviously with Resin (3 level). Made friends with
Solaire and continued to the Parish.
Parish
At first I
wasn't going to take the bonfire since the drake was not complying. But,
since that K greatsword seems to have hacked the game (he totally
hacked) so I failed my parry, I found myself forced to reliably (lol,
passing a drake, reliable?) retrieve my bloodstain. Success.
Now for a session of: "THE OBSTACLE DIARY!"
Black Knight:
"Yeah
so, he came back up after I owned him the first time and get this. He
tried to parry me! HAHAHAH, I showed him the futility of his way and hit
him across the parry. TROLOLOL."
"So he came a second time, and I did the same! U mad?"
"He came a third and he...got OWNED!"
"He
came a fourth, this time with a Heater Shield. I can't recall what
happened. I remember a pain in my waist, then nothingness. I woke up
with a headache, that's for sure."
(4 levels)
So I went in and
took the boar down next. Since I had to be careful, I had allowed the
hollow to close the gate on me (Oh well, long way). I just took down all
the hollows and hid and waited for the boar to return to its neutral
position. Sneaked up on it and it was all over. (5 levels)
I used
my 5 levels to increase my DEX to 10 and STR to 16, which allowed me to
use the Zwei. I proceeded to continue the level until I returned to
Andre and boosted this weapon to +5. Then I casually went to the Tower
Knight, went hyper mode. Parried him, then did a strong attack for a
good 800 damage. Which was death [1 level]. Rested, re-did zone and went
to the gargoyles.
I was surprised to say how easily they've
fallen. I think Gold Pine Resin must have been overkill on them as they
both went down in 1-hit with ease. The only pressure I felt was the time
limit of 30 seconds I had to kill them and heal myself.
So yeah, [3 levels], bought a couple of online items from Oswald out of custom, then went to the Lower Undead Burg.
Lower Undead Burg
Nothing
unusual. I rescued the mage dude (Griggs was it?) and felt opened the
door to Firelink for obvious reasons. Then, to Capra.
Now for a session of "THE OBSTACLE DIARIES"
Capra Demon used jump attack
Player prepares counter jump attack
Dog used bite!
Player has fallen
Music: HA...HA...HA...HA!
Re-try...

Player dodge.
Capra Demon used jump attack

Music: HA...HA...HA...HA!
Re-try...
Dog used bite!
Player blocked!
Capra Demon used Jump Attack
Player dodged, used roll attack
Capra Demon could not be 1 shot!
Capra Demon used Trollface

Music: HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Okay, so I decide to just pick up my bloodstain that is probably in front of the fog gate...
"Dog A used back attack! Dog B used front attack"
"Player has fallen and lost bloodstain!"
Those dogs...
Oh well we can try to do Moonlight for some extra levels:
Darkroot Garden
Nothing
special; I confront Butterfly with good HP since I know it is going to
chip SOME of it off. It chips off some HP with its lance attack. Then
chips off the rest with another...
*Cries in a corner*
