by Hokucho Wed Jan 02, 2013 4:19 amI just cant! Im still leveling, but I cant seem to do anything against forest invaders at all. Kinda frustrating as its why I stopped being a forest hunter in the first place. I wanted to try it again, but it feels like a lot of the same.

Haha, the forest is a terrible place to practice PVP. I use that place to test out all the cheapest tactics I can come up with.

I rarely lose in the forest. I hate to be that guy but the solution is either to get better at fighting multiple opponents or take off the kid gloves (meaning abandon all pretence of honor)

Practice makes a master. It's all about learning the different tactics that people use. Learn to think a step ahead your opponent. Plus u have to learn to live with the lag. It seems to change at times, for me at least. Sometimes u lose cause of that. (I've found out that playin against Japanese guys there seems to be more lag.) But at the same time u evolve ur own PvP skills cause u see different styles and soon u notice that u r able to predict what ur oppenent is going to do next and u r more ready to react to that.

Yeah, completely different pvp environment when invading in the forest. Don't forget to use the environment to your advantage. And, don't hesitate to run and hide behind enemies, heal, set up AoE attacks (WoG, Fire Tempest) to knock people off cliffs, or just surprise them.

Hate the forest. Always get ganked but it is good for practice. Prefer invading areas, let them defeat environment and heal themselves before engaging. Hate using the environment enemies but if I'm getting ganked its fair game / they can heal.

Everyone's talking like if you'r an invader, but i'm under the impression that you're hosting right? In which case, you should clear out as many enemies as you can before an invasion. Once you get invaded, try and stay in those safe areas.

gank is gank. If you're hosting, be thankful. Its worse (better depending on POV) as an invader.

My point was that he can't really on Npc enemies like a normal invader would. But yes, forest hunters tend to gank as much as hosts do.

If you're invading in the Forest, I'd suggest to get a lot of experience in invading other places first. The Forest is another beast of itself, and you need to work your way up there.

My PvP gets much better after I play a while in the forest... even if I constantly lose. Playing people that are better than you is what makes you good at this game, you'll either get better or quit. Keep at it, look up some counter strats to what is killing you online, and practice.

Ive jsut had a huge dropoff in performance. I used to be apart of the earrrliest Dark Souls fight club to exist then things kinda got quiet. I picked back up a month or so ago and realised im still as horrible as I ever was 
moreso i do terribly at 2v1s, especially with the level and item accessability others have as opposed to me at the moment. I think Ive only ever won 1 or 2 2v1s ever in DKs.

Slap on a ring of fog and keep a healthy distance until you get another invader, unless it's 1v1 then you can just attack.
If you don't like that, you can always hope to nail them with a boosted fire tempest or dark bead...but seriously, the covenant gives you the ring of fog for a reason. You can just switch a different ring on just before going in.
