White soapstone bugged?

So, today I was putting my soapstone at the township to help some dudes, and the game suddenly tells me I`m invading other world as a dark spirit. When I arrive I`m a red phantom, and to make things even stranger, I didn`t appear on the usual invading spots, but where my soapstone was placed. After arriving, the host was killed by some npcs and the game gave me his humanity...

Has this happened to anyone else?

And no, I wasn`t wearing any of the invading rings.

from wiki--There is an infrequent bug that sometimes causes players to be summoned
as the wrong kind of phantom. It is possible to use the white sign
soapstone and get summoned as an invader, but it is a rare occurrence.
This also applies to invasions and summons of all kinds, not just the
soapstone.

Must be some kind of cross/mix up where the game thinks its the red soapstone.

Has not happened to me, strange one for sure.

Bad one for the host... poor guy needs help.... calls in an assist...

Apparently morality is rumoured to be a big part of Dark Souls 2. So maybe if your particularly evil when you try to summon help...they turn out be invaders (maybe similar to the Darkmoon covenant)It would be like punishment for your evil crimes (looking at all the low lvl greifers out there)

last night i was looking to be summoned to co-op Toejam and Earl. i got the message "invading as a dark spirit" and arrived as a sunbro? i'm a dragon bro? what?

I once ended up as a white phantom in someone's world two times in a row.
