if her armor when you get it says it trys to hide her hidious form, the armor is shaped like a human so does that mean she is just really ugly or some type of demon???

She's human, but she's deformed below her armor. I dunno if she's deformed from birth or has some kind of horrible scars or something, but that's what it is.

Maybe she's just deformed by battles and being undead, like Havel.

The description on the Fire Keeper Souls says she is that way because she is the Fire Keeper, because you can see the humanities inside her or something like that, don't remember it correctly right now.

Re: the firekeeper in anor lando
Each firekeeper that has been found in the game is female and normally has some form of injury.
Anastacia is a mute.
The Pale Lady is blind and is unable to move.
The Darkmoon firekeeper has some type wound or deformity under her armor. What it is we'll never know.
She is likely a human or undead but it's not likely she is a demon since the demons are normally found around Lost Izalith and are much larger in size.

Maybe they need to bind themselves with the bonfire by giving part of his humanity, soul, and life.

Re: the firekeeper in anor lando
Keep in mind that The Fair Maiden is not human. She and her Izalith Kin are different from humans and the Giants. It's most likely restricted to women who have bared some hardship in their life. Think about it.
The Fair Maiden sacrificed herself for Eingyi. She has a heart of gold. She even cares for the blood-thirsty Quelaag.
Anastacia had her tongue cut out and that's a sign of defiance/heresy/ and betrayal. Anastacia doesn't strike me as the rebellious type. IMO she was shunned from the Way Of The White because she sympathized with the undead. Her clothes give that much away. All they are are just dirty maidens robes.
The Darkmoon Knightess is a little different though. From in-game evidence she has done nothing selfless or even remotely resembling that. All we know is she is hideously deformed and she punishes Sinners. Although, she may think she's doing what needs to be done. Killing sinners. In all religions there are heretics and they are to be assumed as "evil" . I think the bonfires they are connected to are a representation of their life. Someone that is so selfless, loving, and caring that they are perfect vessels for humanity. It's common knowledge that females carry more humanity than males which, in my mind, proves that people need a "conscience" or a more sympathetic heart/brain to be Firekeepers.
My belief is that Firekeepers need to be female, have done something's completely selfless, and they are for t he better of the world. They all have such sad stories. Just look at the other Firekeepers in-game. All of them died and one even got kidnapped. Tough cookies girls.

Re: the firekeeper in anor lando
Actually, Anastacia, from her own comments. Here's her entire dialogue:
"… Th, thank you... I am Anastacia of Astora. Now I can continue my duty as a Keeper.… But… I only hope that my impure tongue does not offend."
"… Forgive me… I am impure, my tongue never intended for restoration. ... Please, if you have any heart... leave me be. I wish not to speak…"
After placing the Lordvessel for Kingseeker Frampt:
"Frampt has told me of you… That you have agreed to link the Fire. I thank you, sincerely. Finally, the curse of the Undead will be lifted, and I can die human. I am powerless, but I will do all that I can. … Please, save us all… Please…"
The Crestfallen Warrior only surmised that she may have been punished by the religious authorities; he doesn't actually know. Based on her own comments, she seems at least moderately religious, and she apparently does indeed view the Undead as a curse. Her clothes are essentially a dirtied set of the same clothes that Reah is wearing who definitely is on the Way of White's good side.
On the main subject of this thread-here's the exact and full text from her own soul item:
Soul of the Darkmoon Knightess,
Fire Keeper of Anor Londo.
A Fire Keeper's soul is a draw for humanity,
and held within their bosoms, below just a
thin layer of skin, are swarms of humanity
that writhe and squirm. Her brass armor
serves to disguise this ghastly form.
Now that the form of Humanity from the DLC has been shown, you and I have more information about Humanity-and what it can do. Obviously, it's not healthy; imagine having blackheads all over your body, except instead of dirt and pus they're filling with Humanity, for example. Based on what happened in Izalith and Oolacile, it very well may be much worse than my example.
