It depends on whether or not you'd even be able to have sex with such a being, but assuming you could, you'd have to define if you could communicate with it first, and if it understands consent as we do. If the answer to all of these questions are yes, and this being does consent to sex, the question would be: why would you want to in the first place?

If it can give consent, and not produce offspring that are born with complications on average, I see no issue with it.

I'd say if it can, if it wants to, if it can understand what you want, and it is a humanoid.
I think I need to actually be put in this situation to decide, because in my mind when you say non-human but sentient I think of this.

I've seen some of the most messed up stuff in existence, I'm pretty sure I can handle worse things than Cloudeki, but my fear of spiders and number 1.

I suppose it really depends on one's personal disgust with such things. Granted 1 was incredibly disturbing but to me I think there is worse out there, and to me spiders aren't exactly the most disturbing thing out there.

I see no reason that there is or should be moral issues with it, assuming both physiologies are capable of consummation.
As one of my close friends argues, all things are chemical processes in action, all composed of the same base elements just arranged differently. By that reasoning a non human species is no more different than someone of a different ethnicity.
In anycase its a question of is it morally ethical to follow your own thoughts and desires or not to?
