How good is the Great Lord GS

On a DEX build? Apparently it's faster than most GS because i just got stunlocked to death in a weird R1, jumping, R2 combo with that. It seems like it's similar to how the Gargoyle's Tail Axe is for DEX builds. Is it a viable weapon or was i just bad at toggle escaping?

Anyone with experience with this weapon, please share?

I use it on my level 45 with the minimum stats to use it in one hand. It's only +3 and the damage is ridiculous. The toxin affects people with a few hits, the one handed running attack has a big window, and it can stunlock the crap out of people. Not sure if it just has high base attack and poor scaling, but it's a great weapon.

I think he's talking about Gwyn's sword. GLS is the toxic one .

But that was good info on the GLS since i wanna play with it too.

IMO it's a good greatsword at minimum requirements. Moveset is kind of boring since the R2s suck, too slow.

The Great Lord Greatsword is a very effective weapon. It was still hit with the nerf but with minimum stats it is a great weapon. Since it has almost no scaling, as long as its +5 you'll get all you want out of it. It isn't the highest possible damage with a Greatsword but if you don't have 40 in strength, or don't have a 40/40 build it's a very good choice.

i think its an awesome sword at low lvl, i have a sl 65 using it.
i always use the r2 2 handed after i bs someone, 90% of the time i make the hit, and at that sl its almost always a kill. kinda fun seeing ppl getting up from a bs just to be smacked down and die =P cheap but alot of fun xD

Yes, i got hit by that too. I thought i could get away after the BS but got slammed down to death...

Both Great Lord and Gravelord Greatswords are very good weapons.
You need only basic stats to wield them, because their scaling sucks.

Gwyn's has terrible R2 attacks, but it does decent damage.
Nito's is slow, but when it hits it can stunlock to death and also does Toxin.

If you want a greatsword for a Dex build, try Flamberge. It does very decent damage, has Bleed and it's R2s can stunlock and Dead Angle very well.
