I get matched up with Japanese players a lot. I do not enjoy it, the connection almost always sucks and is bad the rest of the time. A lot take full advantage; with both their build and techniques to back-stab at every opportunity and then some.

I have a central time zone and rarely go up against players that are from Japan. I've had to deal with them before and it's not fun. The amount of times you get lagstabbed by them in a game can drive a man hollow.

i usually coop op the dlc and lord areas, not a lot of japanese hosts but A LOT of japanese invaders though. im in NYC btw.

Well you can see it isntantly by the name if he/she is japanese, but seriouslx the connection while foghting is horroble, lag bs, porting etc. It sometimes is eventhat bad, that the host connection seems to get lost. Anyhways its stilm fun to fight them^^

i play on ps3, live in europe and all i can say is that it heavily depends on the time of the day when u play. at usual play times for people from europe like afternoon/ early evening you have a big chance of meeting japanese players. and yes, the lag can be horrible....
i generally have the impression that dark souls is very popular especially in japan/asia and the us. i suggest that you try some "unconventional" times like late at night or early morning/morning. then you'll still meet japanese, cause they seem to play that game like crazy, but you'll also meet a lot of people from the us, and the connection is usually way better with them.

I have the bad luck to almost exclusively invade players from Asia whenver I play at evening, or morning. Night time is full of EU and NA players, so it's ok, especially after midnight.

I seem to get alot of Japanese players, and the lag is horrible. Thank goodness DkS2 will go back to dedicated servers, instead of P2P. That should solve the worst of the lag problems, though obviously not all of them.

well.. they play the game at a level it should be played, and it's refreshing to have people to fight you can actually level against. it's just a shame they lag so effing much, and vice versa if you're across the pond reading this haha.
