Slow hard hitiing weapons or fast weaker weapons?

I have always Preferred slower hard hitting weapons because I like to see high numbers when I strike enemies but faster, weaker weapons have a really strong case as when buffed they get the full amount of the buff with every strike so they can really do a lot of damage very quickly in just a few hits.

What do you prefer slow and hard or fast but weak?

I prefer hard hitting, because I got my current weapon early into my playthrough and it's served me well~

If I had a buff spell early, or knew of a fast way to get one, I'd probably have gone for something faster.

I'm a full time Dex guy. I've tried Str weapons and tanking and while it was fun, I kept dying way too often with those. It's just not my flavor of cake I guess. :oops:

Well I. Use the balder side sword which is a strong combo of both. Sucker hits for 400 easy no buff two handed, and the range out ranges the drgonslayer spear. So I never have really have to choose, but if I did i d have to go with fast weaker, sense I've always been a rouge in my past rpgs.

Dropping the Asylum Demon in one hit when I started NG+ felt pretty epic.


Not sure I would get that feeling of "power" from using lower damage weapons.

I tend to gravitate toward faster weapons. Well, daggers and spears. But I guess spears are right in the middle.

It's all about the powah. One shotting titanite demons is awesome.

Depends, I like to have a heavy weapon in PvE because the speed isn't an issue for an experienced player, knowing enemy attack patterns and such, and it's easier to get high damage early on out of Str: upgrading a Great Club to +10 and having 28 Str 2handed gives you crazy damage output before SL40. In PvP I prefer medium weapons like Halberds and Greatswords, though I'm pretty good with light weapons and heavy ones alike.

I prefer medium weapons, such as the Murakumo. It's got good speed, range, and damage.

I've been trying everything, and I know you can get the most damage out of a buffed Ricard's Rapier. I mean.. dang. Just too much damage.

BUT I like my hard hitting weapons, because a freaking Manserpant greatsword with some Sunny D still does huge numbers.

Grant, and the DGM. 'Nuff said.

Despite how fancy spears and katanas can be, nothing quite does it for me like slamming a Black Knight Greatsword into an enemy and watching them fly.

I'm either quick like lightning with a Falchion or Velka's Rapier, or slow and smoothlike with a Man Serpent Greatsword. I tend to lean towards quick weapons though.

i really have an issue with this. i go always with hard hitting / big weapons, but when i use it too often i tend to go back to quick hitting weapons.

i guess my only and true love it's the GLGS :_

I prefer faster weapons but don't mind mixing in things like ultra Greatswords from time to time.

In this game, STR is weak for the size, and DEX is strong for the size.

But personally I love the quality weapons, everything hybrid makes me happy.
