When I started seriously PvPing in Demon's Souls, I've immediately fell in love with Blueblood Sword and Dragon Bone Smasher. I loved their design, the moveset and they did great damage. But ever since I started to seriously PvP in Dark Souls, I couldn't find even one weapon like these.
There are many very good weapons, but I can't find even one like these two. It's the combination of moveset, design and damage that I seek, yet cannot seem to find.
- Spoiler:
- Balder Side Sword, MLGS and Claymore do great damage and have very versatile movesets, but they look horrible and are so overused that they make me sick to fight not to mention use them.
Chaos Blade also deals decent damage and it looks great, but it's moveset is terrible (those R2s...). Another problem with it is that there's something inside of me that tells me that a katana doesn't belong next to a shield. This is why I prefer to two hand any katana, but all of their 2H R2 are terrible and player character is holding them like a stick, instead of a sword. This stance may be good for a straight sword, but it looks really stupid with with a katana, rapier and curved swords.
Astora's Straight Sword looks very nice and the moveset, while basic is very viable, but the damage is so low that it's useless in PvP.
Rapier, Ricard's Rapier and Silver Knight Spear have good movesets and look great, but they are situational weapons. You can't use them in every combat situation and in every area.
Silver Knight Straight Sword looks very elegant and the damage is PvP viable, even if a bit lower than that of BSS, but the moveset is terrible.
Murakumo is a beast that needs time to master and when you do master it, it becomes extremely deadly, but I can't seem to learn to handle it no matter how I try.
Lifehunt Scythe looks very intimidating and its damage and Aux are great if you learn to pace your attacks, but just like Great Scythe, I hate their 1H moveset and being limited to two handing is something that I really don't like, even though I do it all the time with a katana.
Do you have a favourite weapon?
If so, please tell me what you like about it and how you two found each other. Maybe it will inspire me and help me to find my own.
