Curse and PW

We all know that if you start off with a sorcerer, equip the dusk ring, lingering dragoncrest ring, and sanctus, that PW will not drain your health. Well, kinda - Sanctus refills every 2 seconds.

But, what if you get cursed? Will that have the same effect as the dusk ring (thereby allowing you to equip another ring like Red Tearstone ring)?

I can't say for sure reim, but this EXACT conversation was discussed somewhere else a week or so. I explicitly remember the metion of curse. It think it was theorized to get your health below 200 or something.

I can't remember the specifics. I'll try and find that conversation....I know I posted in it.

PW is rounded down; it will drain 1 HP/s at the HP values of 100-199. Sanctus heals 1 HP/s. In order to cancel out PW, you must have both the Ring and be cursed. This is also good for maintaining Red Tearstone because your HP value will not change.

...and yes, being cursed provides the same effects as Dusk Crown Ring in terms of PW and Sanctus, you just won't have extra casts.

Tests will show that with Dusk Crown Ring and Lingering Dragon Crest Ring. PW, along with Sanctus, will drain 48 HP (Roughly 18% of your HP) over the course of 150 seconds (2 minutes and 30 seconds).

What if you're cursed, cast PW, and then cure the curse?

Same thing as put Dusk Crown Ring, PW, remove Dusk Crown Ring; it readjusts and starts draining more. There is no way around it, they were careful with possible loopholes.

If you use Lingering Dragoncrest Ring it will work. Without it, Sanctus won't be able to outheal the HP drain of Power Within. This will not kill you, but it will damage you enough to kill you if you plan on using RTSR.

Before the patch, you could stack Curse up to four times, making your HP 6% of it's original value. That alone was enough to use PW + Sanctus (not to mention unupgraded Pyromance Flame).

Rynn has recently tried this and dound out that you'll eiether need Curse x2 + Dusk Crown Ring for it to work, or you'll need Lingering Dragoncrest Ring equipped all of the time, to supplement one stack of the Curse.

I was testing this on SL 1 Pyromancer, not SL 3 Sorcerer, but there shouldn't be any significant differences.

Can you PvP while cursed? Darkmoon/FH???

You can not revive while cursed (although you appear human when you are in another world), so I guess white, sunbro, catbro and moonbro :| are the only options, no hosting, gravelord or red phantom.

back before they nerfed curse, there was a loophole where power within drained 0 HP a second if you had 99 or less HP.

I'm just imagining the glass-cannon potential with this before the patches...
