Discoveries you only made recently.

I recently learned that Ornstien has a combo where he looks like he is going to do one move, then he randomly cancels it and goes into another move. (He was about to do his jumping back attack but then he shoved his spear into me and did an uppercut.)

I can't speak for Xbox and PS3 connection, but I basically play DkS in offline mode most of the time, most eye orbs fail and I've invaded/been summoned at most ten times in the 300 hours of gameplay I've had.

I'm on PC and while it certainly is less populated than consoles and invasions/summoning take longer, my cracked eyes invaded in about a minute and thirty seconds and I've had no trouble finding summoning signs when I need them.

Throw me a PM if you do feel in the mood for some jolly co-op or pvp though.

Really? Maybe it's my internet connection. Will do, btw, I love pvp. That's why I went FHC. Not going to be back on DkS until Easter, but my GFWL name is snowpillar.

I just learned that there's a ladder beside the Crimson armor and Remedy sorcery. It leads to a completely useless platform.

I was on my Pvp build just going through ariamis for the hell of it and I thought I might as well try for priscillas tail and if not then whatever. Got to her and two handed my +5 lightning Zwei and cut off the tail in one hit.

Worked pretty nicely.

Yes, it may have been patched later, but I am 100% sure I got a slab off the crystal lizard in the burg. I have very clear memories of this: it was my very first playthrough, and I knew how important those lizards were in DeS so I chased it down the stairs and managed to kill it with a hand axe, and then got a drop message with 2 twinkling titanite, and a slab. I also lacked the skill or game knowledge to go get the slab from the asylum demon or the darkwraiths -- didn't even know where any of them were. I even remember what I later used it on: making my elite knight chest into +10, because someone had told me it was the best med armor in the game. And of course mine turned out to only have 16 poise at the time, so I never really wore it. Hence my bitterness, the one legit piece of pure luck I had in that playthrough and I blew it.

If you start mashing R1 before Seathe breaks his crystal, he'll still heal up if you're still mashing away after he breaks it.

I discovered that you can kill the iron boar at the undead parish by lowering the gate in front of the church on him.

^^ Haha yes, I stumbled over that with the hollows recently. Now I use it on everything, that gate is always hungry. My dream is to get an invader with it, I think this is possible.

Chaos Firestorm not only did nothing, she spat lava at me and stunlocked me into a wall with it until I miserably burned to death. Sigh.

Quelaag and Ceaseless are both immune to fire and lava.

^ Once I got summoned by someone who used only phyros against her. I would've , but I was too busy fighting. Luckly I had Mildred to help me.

I've actually done this twice so far. They spawn right in the middle of the bridge, so I just quickly run out towards them and then retreat back towards solaire so the dragon will come out with the fire.

Yes, killing invaders with the bridge drake is actually a known troll technique because they spawn right in the middle of the bridge, and the drake basically can be used on command like a flamethrower if the host runs up and down those stairs to the side. It's like From knew folks would want some cheap payback after running the griefer gauntlet in the Burg, that up ladder from the bonfire is just so convenient.

ublug, did you ever test whether that portcullis has a damage limit, or is it an autokill if it hits? Obviously most invaders would never fall for it, but there's something about those infinite health hacks that makes people lazy...

In one of my streams I demonstrated it doesn't even do 500 damage.
