It never ceases to amaze me how easy Lower New Londo is. I used to be terrified of it - no bonfire, giant blob things that can impale you a mile away, pitch black with crazy skullfaced dudes darting out of nowhere.

But everything down there is so easy to kill! And it's actually fun fighting Darkwraiths too.

Having said that, my cleric does enjoy tearing up Tomb of the Giants, but even she enjoys messing about downtown Londo....

I just listened to the unused dialogues of Solaire and discovered that the Altar of Sunlight was meant to be in Anor Londo originally.

I learned that Gwenevere was only an illusion created Gwyndolyn. Turns out that the real Gwynevere is not in Lordran.

    You don't understand

clams drop purging stones, and they are right next to the great hollow, why would you go through blighttown and new londo cursed while you could just keep going for a few minutes and find your purging stone? health doesn't help for basiliks, you can dodge the mushrooms, and you can easily kill the hydra without taking a single hit.
Then yo can farm the 2 clams that are closer to the bonfire

It was my first time that I got to Undead Parish via new londo -> valley of drakes -> darkroot basin.

I wanted to check how the figth with Taurus will look like, when you enter from the other side. But you cannot.

Not sure if this is on topic, but for me that something new:
During the same gameplay (on NG) I summoned Beatrice to kill the Buterfly ... she died leaving me with just a sword to fight almost full health Butterfly.

I understand what you mean, but it wasn't about taking the easy way out here. I wanted to make a sidequest here. It's much more fun to go all the way there and get a challenge. It was my own pay back on myself for not buying purging stone in the first place. If I would take the only way out it wouldn't be fun anymore silly. Like when I decided to solo O&S or cut the tail of a boss.

She's worse at 4 Kings, she keeps trying to soul arrow the ghosts while you take the trip down to the 4 kings.

Clear the level, touch her summon sign and run for the fog. Their HP won't be increased and she'll have nothing to get distracted by Look Skyward

Why spend your hard-earned souls on Purging Stones when you can trade a single red-eye orb with Sparky the Crow and get 2 purging stones?

I've also noticed that if somone summons Beatrice for the Four Kings fight, there will be a single ghost inside and up to the left of the fog gate. Kill that ghost and Beatrice will join the fight against the boss.

It's because that's too easy. This game was made to be challenging, but it's not challenging enough.

If you do a jumping attack, and you fall far enough, not only will you trigger the plunging attack, but it will first register the jump attack damage first, then the plunging attack damage after.

I tested this on the Asylum Demon. I plunged using a bandit for 380~ damage. I restarted and then did a "jumping" plunge and saw 160~,then it jumped to 540~ damage.

Seems they keep "nerf ing" things in the game. Makes first time through easier and subsequent times through very easy. They should nerf the nerfing.

I don't think nerfing should be a thing unless they nerf player items. Nerfing enemies makes it easier and less enjoyable long-term.

I'm currently playing the unpatched version and boy have they nerfed it, can't remember it being this tough on my first playthrough. Most of the early enemies have more health and gives close to no souls, I can't even break the guard of the spear-soldiers with kicks or 2-handed battle axe attacks. Just killed the gargoyles and was rewarded with 1500 souls!

and farming was a ***** from what i remember as well. the drop rates were awful and items didn't just move to your inventory automatically either, so don't knock that crystal lizard off a ledge if you can help it.

Lacking anywhere better to put this: I discovered my first vagrant last night (finally). White clawed one in the Anor Londo rafters, down on the Gwynevere statue platform. Almost fell off the rafters I was so excited, and then it hilariously hurled itself to its death as I got closer. I was actually cooping in someone else's world, and made the host follow me all the way down to the lower level to take a closer look at it.

Interesting thing was that the host had also summoned me several times earlier and died at various spots in the level. So he may have vagranted himself similar to that video I think ublug posted.

I actually found my first vagrant recently as well. I was just messing around in the Parish killing the three little hollows and suddenly I had some weird needle attack hit me in the back and I turned around and saw a big reddish orb vagrant.

I was wondering if there was something about the parish. Because I've seen 3 and 2 of them were in the actual parish and one was just outside the sunlight altar bonfire. Shrug
