Re: Discoveries you only made recently.
I'm doing a caveman run (but I level up). I usually have 0 poise, a club and a plank shield. The archer's arrows would drive me off the ledge. With the Wolf Ring, I had 40 poise. It was enough to block two arrows until I got close enough to fight.

Re: Discoveries you only made recently.
I've known this technique for awhile, but since I just used it, I thought I would share:
You can lead the second boor in Anor Londo between the pillar and the bonfire. He gets trapped allowing you to dispatch him with extreme prejudice. Poison works on the boors, too.
You can lead the first boor back to the beginning of the level. He cannot leave the corridor allowing you to kill him without getting hit.
These tips are better for the low-level guys...

The easiest way to dispatch of him is using the alluring skulls they give you above the boar, just chuck the skulls one by one behind the fire and let the boar rage himself to death.Green__Eagle wrote:I've known this technique for awhile, but since I just used it, I thought I would share:

sometimes those silver knight snipers just don't want to switch to their sword and keep firing their greatbow at you even though you're already right up in their grill.
when you're that close to them, it takes slightly longer to recover from blocking an arrow than it takes the silver knight to reload and fire again. you can essentially get stuck blocking their shots, one after another, for a very long time.

Not very long, as you would soon moonwalk to the second sniper and get hit from both directions.Nybbles wrote:sometimes those silver knight snipers just don't want to switch to their sword and keep firing their greatbow at you even though you're already right up in their grill.

Re: Discoveries you only made recently.
i found my second vagrant!!! (although it was in my friends world) it was in the tomb of the giants at the shortcut with the silver serpent ring. i jump down from where the ring is and my friends says "be careful theres a invader behind you. even though it didnt say anything i know DkS is infamous for doing that from time to time. i turn around on guard to see what the invader is using and im like "DUDE, thats not a invader thats a vagrant. theyre real easy to kill and they drop rare stuff come look at this ugly F*****" lol yea thats how it happened

, I wish I knew, so I could make an exact amount of poise to not be sent flying, and most likely stay mid or fast roll.

Re: Discoveries you only made recently.
Well i guess you could start out with 161, and slowly go down
until
Then you will know that you don't have enough poise
I always wondered how it feels to be falcon punched by 500Kg of mushroom muscle
It could probably be compared to being stabbed by those giant rockbreaker machines used in mines, i'm surprised the punch doesn't pierce through the chosen undead

The silver archers usually fire in rounds of 4. If they switch back to their bow, they will shoot it 4 times before they can (but don't always) weapon swap again. So count their shots while sidestepping and then after the 4th if you menace them at close range they usually switch to sword and shield and you can just parry them. Works on all the archers including the ones inside the building.
Also, does anyone know if two handing a weapon also increases condition damage? I have been using a broadsword (200 cond) two handed lately and it seems to degrade really fast. A single standard Anor Londo run is often 30-40 points just on the mobs alone.

Do you use Charcoal Resin? I've heard that degrades weapons faster.

Catalysts freeze up if you turn 180 degree's while blocking with them.
Demons Catalyst does a metric ton of damage.

Re: Discoveries you only made recently.
The 2-handed zweihänder R2 stuns the mushroom parents in one hit. I'm guessing that would be true for all ultra great swords, but I've only tried it with the zwei. It could be unique to the zwei, because of it's knockdown effect. But, the mushroom parents can get stunned by all the weapons I've tried on them, so I'd assume that ultra great swords just deplete all their poise in one hit.

The pyro glove punches with fire damage. Discovered this while farming the rats in the depths. Also discovered fire makes the drops happen more often.

Not confirmed, it only seems like that.RenegadeCop wrote:Is that luck, or confirmed?
Just like it seems like darkwraiths drop chunks more often with a parry kill instead of a backstab run.
I literally recorded 40 runs, 20 pure backstabs, 20 pure parries, I got 33 chunks off of the backstab run, 30 off the parry run.

This luck factor on different ways to kill has become conclusive. BS fish with a fire weapon. Low level PvP anyone?

If you do the parry animation with your bare left hand with a spear in the right hand, you'll kinda shake or something. Makes the camera jump too.

Cyaran doesn't appear at Artorias' actual grave if you don't have Artorias' soul with you, I warped ASAP to the Giant Blacksmith after getting his soul because that character was made to wield the Abyss Greatsword; but I wanted the Lord's Blade Mask
