I like the new 'torch' mechanic though. Looks fun and deadly. =3

Dark Souls 2 Gameplay Reveal by IGN.
Combat looks wonky. I hope that the armor you see here is just a starter set of sorts and you can still create your own characters. Weird is that no damage is displayed when you hit an enemy. Only time will tell.

I remember dark souls combat also looked wonky in the first previews, coming from demon's souls combat.

Thus, i'm hoping it gets better as more information is revealed. Overall, the game looks amazing. So many new mechanics added into the combat of DkS2. I wonder how it'll play out in PvP as well.

As I said before, I don't like the graphics. They look slightly cartoony, like dragon age to dragon age 2.
Otherwise I reserve judgement.

I'm not too keen on the two slots under the shield and the single one under the weapon... I get the feeling the upgrade system is going to use gems or something simple. In the interview after they talk about reusability of items... thats going to take away the joy of wasting shards and chunks on the wrong upgrades if you can just take out gems and reuse them... and why go through NG+++ just to get 3 claymores. . . hmmm not happy if this is the case. Time will tell oh Slayer of Demons.

Accessibility ... yeah I understand but they also said they listened to the fans... which one of us would ask for a system of adding and removing gems? I am of course speculating but imagine an upgrade system such as kingdoms of alamur.. blergh!

The Q&A says the way the story is told will be the same. This was the main concern of most members of the community.
And since that gameplay footage was so f*cking amazing, I can easily say Dark Souls II will be well worth the wait.
Edit: Also, isn't this topic in the wrong section?

Dual-wielding was only good on people with no poise. I would like more fluent dual wielding too.

Doesn't look as good as Dark Souls IMO, but will probably be touched up a lot. They seem to have some ideas.

I just got burned. My boner reached the sun. There's not as thing I don't like. Hell, the animation reminds me of demon's souls, which i prefer to dark souls, plus it just looks so crisp, clean and detailed, and i can already see so many mechanics the first 2 didn't have.. I feel like they combined both my favorite games: Demon's souls and Monster Hunter. I'm REALLY digging this.

They'll be improved by release, remember, this game doesn't even have a release date yet.
I love how fluid everything moves, and combos seem flow into eachother more than they did in DeS/Dk. I'm excited, with a hint of caution.

Sweet, thanks.

For some reason I was automatically redirected to the Dutch version of the site. What, just because I'm Dutch I should read all websites in Dutch? No! If I wanted that, I'd just go to the Dutch version of the site myself!

Looks like no more dual wielding for me. I'll just stick with a weapon and no shield.
I really like the design of the straightsword we see. I wouldn't be surprised if that becomes my most used weapon.

Re: Dark Souls 2 Gameplay Reveal by IGN.
Alright, finished watching. Looks pretty good. It still looks like Dark Souls.
Movement seemed a lot quicker. Animations looked less fluid, but that can still be fixed. It also seemed to me that the aesthetics were less grim, both the UI and the world itself, which isn't really what I'd aim for with Dark Souls, but whatever.
Combat seemed good, even though the person playing didn't actually seem that good at the game. Actual dual wielding moves is pretty cool. I also saw no backstabs, in the 1 case that he attacked a same-size enemy from behind he just attacked normally and then got crushed, which brings hope

I really don't like the cartoony look of it (specially the main character, looks like kingdoms of amalur) other than that looks good and I can't say anything about the gameplay until I actually play it.
