Re: Game of Thrones
Beric Dondarrion was the guy w/the eye patch and also a Stark bannerman. R'hllr is the god of light which is meant to destroy the forces of dark which brings back the white walkers and a permanent winter cloaked in darkness for all eternity. There is a whole thing between light and dark and there is only one who is Azor Ahai reborn, willing to defeat the dark and it isn't who you think it isSerious_Much wrote:steveswede wrote:Serious_Much wrote:Then this season, we've got people getting brought back to life,
No this has been a theme since the start with the Wights. What's happened this season is that we now know that the god, Rh'illor has the same ability to animate corpses as the Wights.
No I mean when that guy with the eyepatch was killed and brought back to life- as in as a person not a zombie. It's the first time this season anything like that happened
I know abotu the wights or whatever they're called, im not a complete tard Though I did miss that out my post lol, admittedly (though they weren't as major a theme as season 2 finale or this season)

Those weren't spoilers as they have been repeated throughout the series since season two. The one who's Azor Ahai reborn is Stannis.

Really? Really?
That's lame, I thought it was gonna turn out to be someone else eventually and he'd just get killed- stannis is pathetic.

There's more to this than what we are meant to know at this point. The flames that tell the future are never clear for the priests to understand. In the book we currently have no idea what will happen around this event.

I have to say I didn't see the trap coming.. I mean I thought there was gonna be a retaliation, and I was suspicious of the mask of the perverse joker was definitely off, but killing the lot of them? Had no idea.
Can I also jsut say the unsullied fighting was beyond cool.
Oh f*ck yeah. I never thought he will be this level of cool. I'm gonna be totally dissapointed with any game that will let me have a spear for years after seeing this.
Too bad the battle was AGAIN cut short. Those three just march into a tent and say "The city is our!". Just like that?!
I really like GoT, but it does miss a lot by skipping out all these potentionally epic battles.

Re: Game of Thrones
LotR was all about battles, while GoT is all about characters, story and sex.
I would prefer a midground of these two.
No more demonic hellspawns crawling out of a woman's ... (remembers that Fed is a woman and decides to skip this word) would be much appreciated too.

writes and the guys brought back to life are different because they have previous memories where as a write has no control over their actions.

Re: Game of Thrones
My only issue with the episode was that I wish the stabbing roose Bolton gave rob was much more dramatic it seemed rushed. there was still about 6 min of airing time left in that episode I think they cut it too short. plus I love the actor they chose for roose bolton

Agreed. The way I pictured Robb's death in my head as I read it in the book was far more dramatic. Robb being on the floor, not walking (how could he stand after getting hit in the chest with all those bolts anyway?), Roose calmly walking up to him, and driving a sword down into his heart with an evil Bolton smile on his face... Seems much more powerful a scene than Roose just walking up to him and knifing him in the chest to finish him off.

That's pretty much exactly how I imagined it.

What would have been perfect if Bolton said:
"Long live the King" and THEN stabbed Robb. It would have been beautiful. THEY HAD THE OPPORTUNITY. WHY DID THEY NOT TAKE THIS CHANCE!?

Just leaving this here so people who watch the series have some idea on bastards last names. If you ever wanted to know Gendry's last name, well now you know.

"The Lannisters send their regards" Was pretty much the best thing he could have said in my opinion.

I think before pulling a weapon out is an equally dramatic idea.. Just maybe they executed the stabbing itself wrong.

Re: Game of Thrones
I just finished watching the episode before the finale. I cannot believe that just happened. I literally feel nauseous. This rivals Ned 100%. Rivals when Dexter found Rita, and I was standing yelling at the television for that one. I can't believe that just happened. They foreshadowed it the whole damn episode and I just did not see it coming at all. Roose Bolton is such a douche.
I texted my friend to talk about it and he was like "I feel sick just talking about it again."
I'm angry at George Martin. I was going to watch the finale but I'm going to play League of Legends instead and make myself feel better first.

Re: Game of Thrones
This series proves to be quite good at being unexpected, but this one event I totally anticipated. Especially given the fact that Tywin didn't blink an eye when he was told about Robs plans.
(Sorry, I still get the character names wrong, I could use subs for this tbh)
