The forums and chats to me feel like a very different place. I'm sure thats great for some people, but to me it's a little depressing.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
I feel like a lot of the people I used to frequent the forum for have left one way or another, and I find it hard to chat with the newer members or jump into threads.

I hope DkS2 will help resurrect the forums. It seems like such a far ways to go though.

It's about giving newer people a chance but I can understand the frustration, you build relationships with certain people and those are the people you want to interact with. That's just how people are and although some have left many others have remained and most, if not all, will be back for DkS 2 like bunny already intimated.
Now that is a ways away so if you want to wait around for that or not is entirely your call, mate.

More on that girl: She's now at college, but luckily still has some free time. However, she seems to spend all of it with her new friends and none of it talking to her old ones. It bothers me how she wouldn't hang out with someone she's known for a while, but will gladly go out and have fun with people she's just met.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
It is part of moving on, I guess. Going off to college means a massive change in her life. Finding some stability there is important, and that means hanging out with new people to find a sense of place.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
Don't get me wrong; it's great that she's making friends there and getting comfortable, but it feels like it's just changed for the worse overnight. It may be a matter of convenience that she's hanging out with her friends there more often than in high school, but I've hardly had an actual conversation with her since she started there.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
Oldheads are few and far between these days, and some of us may disappear for weeks or months on end (maybe just me...), but we're still here.
The forum has changed I'll admit - it is no longer the completely friendly haven that I once thought could actually undergo a lifting of censorship, and come out for the better - but there is still an outpouring of knowledge and humor emanating from a dedicated group, including members that will often go out of their way to help you out, whether it be Souls, gaming, or even life related.
It is not perfect - sometimes posts go overlooked, questions go unanswered, but it can be hard to stand out amongst this outpouring, so I don't think anything is personal. We're all pieces of this puzzle, and we're just tryna put it together one post at a time (or the forum is a Bonfire and we're all kindling it, to paraphrase a certain Emergence).
I'd say stick with it. If you need a break, you need a break, and there's nothing wrong with that, either. But, for the most part, members old and new are super solid folk, to be sure.

March will be here before we know it. It's actually kind of a scary thought. I'll be a full fledged grown up by then. Gradiated from college and hopefully working a real career, or looking for a place to start by then.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
My cat has been howling, for a lack of better words, in the middle of the night for some reason. I make sure that he has adequate food and water, and he seems to be in good health, so I'm not sure what's wrong. It keeps me awake, and I don't have any idea what to do.

Has anything happened recently around the same time that your cat began "howling"?

Re: The "let it out" thread.
My cat did the same thing when I moved to my new appartment. He did it for about two weeks and it was really hard to sleep. I think he was stressed out about the new environment. Your cat may be stressed out about something. Have you recently moved the furniture or something? That may set them off as well. He might also just be bored. Buy him a few toys and play with him before bedtime to see if he will calm down.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
Boredom seems pretty probable, now that I think about it. I bought him a mouse toy that squeaks but haven't heard it in a while, so I may have to get him another one and/or something else.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
Cats also 'howl' when they are playing sometimes. Whenever my cat plays with his toy mouse, after he's done flipping it around and chasing it, he holds it in his mouth and howls.
Instinctually, it's a feral thing cats do after they kill their prey. Imagine a Lion grabbing a gazelle, sinking its teeth into its flesh, and then letting off a few roars to celebrate/further intimidate the gazelle into submission. Now, make it 1/20th the size and viola! Cat with a toy in it's mouth, making a 20x less badass sound.

Sorry. Let's stick with "20x less blaring," as that reflects more the volume of the sound, as opposed to its nature.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
First contribution to this topic:
Just found out that my ex girlfriend who I actually do care about and may even go as far to say love is currently falling for one of my close friends. Only thing I could think of to tell her was that I dont want to see her hurt by him and that if he ever does do anything to hurt her that I am always here to help her whether it be talking or actions. Also I told her that I am not angry in anyway shape or form and I that i do still care about her as much as before.
Past That I have no idea what to do, but my body trembling is not a feeling i do enjoy.

Re: The "let it out" thread.
Well, for what it's worth you're handling it a degree of maturity that is far advanced for your age, pantha.
The pain? Can't help you there. That just depends on what transpires and on you, really.

I can understand your pain, pantha. A similar thing happened to me. It sucked, but I moved on (still staying friends however).

Well we had to put down my dog today because the vet couldn't do anything about his tumor. It's disappointing with how everything turned out and I'm in a position where I really don't know how to feel about the situation.
