Try pvping with our a shield. People approach you different and dont just circle you.

I'm still in the experimental stage for PvP, trying to figure out what weapon I would like to use and whatnot. 1-8 so far, only won from being cheap so I really shouldn't count that

Casting WoTG to prevent backstabs...it's effective if you can anticipate it, but more often than not, when I try it as a reactionary tactic, I still get stabbed thanks to lag.

Getting too aggressive with my opponent. The faster opponents usually dodge and punish me for any recklessness I let seep through while the bulkier ones laugh at me while creaming me with their superior damage output. I have gotten better, though, so I suppose I can learn from most of my mistakes.

although that leaves me to heal myself so thats a good thing

I get reckless if I get the upper hand. I'm built to be kind of a tank, so I can usually take hits and then just get people in a chain, but I'll get overbearing and waste my stamina, then get rocked like they were a hurricane when they counter my assault.

do i really need to say only one? lol, eh, i'm just bad for the most part, i just do it for a change of pace

Assuming that my oppnents will be honourable. Heals, spams, fishing, you name it.

i had a perfect chance for a backstab and deliver it with ... pyro glove and crystl homing ... afcourse i died before the "am i using a correct equipment ?" anim

Pretty much. The R1 attack, while awesome looking and fine for PvE, is slow and has short range compared to the other pole weapons. If it was faster it'd actually be a viable weapon.

Just to let you all know: I frequently check back on this thread to learn all your weaknesses.


My mistake: existential dilemma... My invasion build uses the Bandit's Knife as main weapon, yet I refuse to backstab anymore.

As for duels... can't think of one. You guys be sure to let me know once the fight club is up!

i'm not particularly good, in fact, i suck, i get hit randomly, get caught in backstabs, even been parried a few times
i also go for looks over effectiveness, so having little to no poise doesn't work so well for me because i can't walk through a hit
sigh, maybe i'm just venting my frustrations, granted, it IS after 1am PST, the crowd i tend to fight at this time isn't exactly the least annoying

So far I've been hunting low level invaders in the parish and the few deaths I have gotten were because they got in after I used a bonfire and the mobs are clogging up the area I fight in, usually ending up in my death.

Also while not flipping Havel's. Anything that is flipping is a slight hassle for me, at least the ones that know to attack then flip backwards before my sword beats them senseless. Would a spear be a better option for this?

Invading Kiln, expecting people to be there for a good duel and not to be cowards farming people with two white phantoms.

dont worry about it you will learn and kill everyone allmost I had the same problems starting out in Demon souls

I made a stupid mistake today, giving host I was invading 900k souls without doing nothing for it.
Lvl 80 in Kilin, pvp for hours in there, invading someone, don't see him on spawn point, rushing to the end of the zone.
He's waiting for me after the small stone bridge with his homing crystal soulmass around him I run to him, seeing his spell runing at me automatically as I'm in range, I instinctively roll on the side to avoid it ... but well, the side of the stone bridge is not a good place to land.
Send him a message saying : FAIL , he replied me with a "You're welcome ! "

this happenned to my brother when he tried to invade someone in undead parish.He got attacked by the 3 knight in church right before he invaded and left him with only 50 hp and instead of taking the ladder he jumped down the ledge.I'll let you guess what happened.Atleast now i know to be at full hp if i want to invade
