Kinds of bosses you want to see?
I don't know if there is a thread on this already, but I want to know what kind of bosses you would like in DaS2. For me personally, I have two kinds of bosses that I love, the first is any form of giant spider, and I ad my needs met in the first DaS. The second, is a kraken or any form of ridiculously large sea creature. I don't know if swimming is going to be an element in DaS2, but I can imagine an epic fight with sea creatures. That is why, in the Shield Contest, I pray that Tide Warden makes it in the game. Fantasy would be complete. <3 So yeah, what kinds of bosses do you guys want?

Re: Kinds of bosses you want to see?
I would like to see bosses that appear multiple times, switching up the fights style and feel each time. Something that gave you the feel of being hunted down, even when you defeated it, you knew it was only a matter of time before you were going to have to face off again. And you knew it was going to be even harder... Something similar to the Asylum/Stray/Firesage fights, but where those were basically stronger versions of the same enemy, I want something that maybe starts of as an unarmed beast (1st fight), maybe finds itself a weapon (second fight), and ultimately evolves into something akin to Artorias of the abyss (final fight).

Re: Kinds of bosses you want to see?
I would like to face some abyss-ified Elderich Abomination like the Four Kings or some demon-ish human with powerful dark magic and hard hitting melee strikes. Pretty much anything that's huge, is in the dark, has dark magic, and can be fought more than once throughout the game. I would love to fight someone who fought sort of like Daimon from the new Dark Arisen expansion for Dragon's Dogma with epic music going on different encounters.
Edit: Forgot to add: a tragic back-story that connects to the Dark Souls lore not just in Dark Souls II.

I would like a boss that forces you to dodge a lot. Something like the hydra, but on a much bigger scale.

Make it unable to be parried. No matter how clever the AI is, if it can be parried, it will always be too easy.raecor14 wrote:i want a completely human boss that uses a completely normal (although much more powerful than normal) weapon with god like AI
I am hoping to see a boss that is around our own size. Make it fast, strong and strategic.
Also, how strange it may sound, I want to see yet another puzzle boss. A boss that require you to think more out of the box, rather then the usually "Dodge, attack, block, attack, dodge". However, don't make it so that the boss will die after said puzzles has been completed, but pitch you into an actually boss fight. I think most, if not all, of us can agree, that the BoC was a horrible boss, with no awesome feeling to it but frustration and annoyance. Combine it with different objectives and the ever beloved Soul combat.
And of course, I would like to fight a boss who use the environments around it. Like hiding in the dark, or make use of deadly traps.
Thats all my opinion of course.

I also would like a boss with the ability to mimic the players stats and weapon, or perhaps a boss that changes tactics depending on how you play.
Perhaps a boss that comes a few times in the game, and tests your playstyle.
A pyro would have to change their tactics more fitting for a high Fire-Res foe and so on.

I didn't die to any of the bosses even though I had no idea what I was up against.

Re: Kinds of bosses you want to see?
a boss that literally takes you in the dark if you use any light youll die the only way to kil the boss is by using senses that the player has i dont know what to name it
the other boss is a boss under water in order to fight you must have a ring where you can breath and walk in water but your slower even if you have light armor unless you have another ring that makes your footing faster

A puzzle boss that makes you utilize sound? I think that the idea would be hard to implement, as there are only 2 senses a player can use, sound and sight.
The other idea is similar to what we have with the hydra in Darkroot basin, but you want the idea to be expanded?

Re: Kinds of bosses you want to see?
you forgot about ash lake well if the devs can actually make the senses more available for the player yeah or i guess another ring that makes the player see sounds surrounding the area like a red mist the boss would have to be at any pin point location of the red mist so there has to be a pattern
then the underwater boss to me the hydra was really nothing it didnt feel like a boss yeah i guess expanded with a bit more tactics in order to kill it instead of choppin heads 1 by 1

So, Something like this...
After fighting your ways through the deep catacombs, you encounter a fiend named "Mist fiend". After killing it you pick up a ring that could called "Ring of ethereal sight" Descending deeper into the catacombs, you see a door. After opening it and walked you fall down. After falling down you land in a room full of red mist. A cutscene shows a sorcerer called "Mistwalker" he vanishes into the smoke. You can kill him without the ring but you need to listen to sound ques. Wearing the ring outlines his body.
Underwater boss: The grand Hydra. After fighting your way in a deep underground city (think New Londo but wetter). After a while you stand at the edge of a flimsy plank. The plank brakes and you sink to the ground. There you notice you can breathe but does moves very slowly. You will need to think about how you will survive.

Re: Kinds of bosses you want to see?
My issue with underwater places: We can't swim so it would have to a range battle or a long melee one. I think that takes too long.
