1. Somehow avoid grab/AoE/homing magic spam
2. Constantly stay right up on the kings to avoid taking full damage (and in my experience, the swipes occasionally push you far enough that the follow-up hits for full damage)
3. Stop to heal anyway
Basically, 1 mistake that makes you take too much damage via AoE attack or a grab will make it hard to heal without them beating on you for full damage, making spend even MORE time to heal. It's a rat race at that point since more kings can show up, and it's unnecessary.
I don't see the utility in this compared to just spamming "roll left except when they swing from the right", and hitting them 2x (3 with really fast weapons) between attacks. Any benefit you'd gain via tanking via stamina is lost in time spent chugging.
The only attacks difficult to dodge are the above mentioned homing magic, grab, and AoE. With fast roll you can triple back roll to get away from AoE blasts. With the grab you just roll back once or twice, wait for them to start moving, then roll sideways. Homing magic you just charge past and likely eventually eat; it's reasonably rare and dodging it uses too much time.
IMO fast rolling > tanking 4kings, even on a build that ultimately seeks to tank.
This fight is so, so much easier if you have even 1 attunement slot for PW. It makes such a huge difference lol. I went into the fight on another playthrough with a raw halberd 16 str 12 dex (arguably weaker than lightning spear +5) but thanks to lingering ring + PW I absolutely MOPPED this fight...with time to heal between the 2nd/3rd and 3rd/4th kings.
Problem: I don't have any of this or the access to it nor do I have the skill to even try low sl runs. I'll just get a trader to hand me about 79 orbs and deal with the 4 kings when I get the build to 55.
Use any elemental weapon and fast roll and you'll be fine. It takes some time to get used to their tells, but they're more predictable than human players and they don't even lag!
2hand your weapon. Throw a grass crest shield on your back for more attacks...I don't care if it's +0 it's still useful and it's all you need. Gold-hemmed set if you have nothing else (that should be easy enough to own and has respectable magic resists). Elemental weapon is recommended for this event vs non-lowbies anyway. I'm actually going to carry a Zwei +5 and a Chaos Zwei +5 for this event .
