I know who Sen is! (Sorta)

See this kind of prejudice is what holds back our society. What, just because two people are giants they have to be friends? So I guess that you expect all invaders to get along and be buddies as well, because that's not what I see. Here's a mindblower for you: giants are people as well. Just because someone is tall you have to call them a giant and pretend they exist as their own race? Gwynevere is tall, Priscilla is tall, and even Ornstein and Smough are pretty tall. Does that make it okay to group them together and call them "giants?" No, of course it doesn't. So what else makes giants separate from the rest of the people I just mentioned? Their skin color. That's right, you're just a know good racist. They just so happen to be tall and dark skinned, and so you run off and call them "giants." I'm so sick of the world.

Sen is a very basic name, it is good for a Giant, and how is calling them giants racist? They ARE giants, they all look the same, act the same, talk the same, make the same noises.

And Giants may have been considered gods by other cultures! That is why they say it was built by gods!

Here we go, all giants are the same, typical. Let me ask you this, do you speak "giant?" Have you ever involved yourself in the culture of others? If not then why don't you try it. You'll learn that "they" are just like us. All sorts of people exist within their society and it makes no sense at all to suggest that they are all the same because the 3 that you met were the same. What if aliens landed on Earth and met a bunch of bros and went, "Screw it, this planet is doomed anyway let's just kill em?" Obviously that would be stupid because they would only have met the smallest fraction of a percentage of the the population. I rest my case, whenever you'd like to move away from ignorance and enter the 21st century be my guest.

Each giant in dark souls stomps around when you attack him, (Not 100% about gough).

What is so bad about that? Why do you feel so strongly about a creature that is in a game world? It is a giant! I don't mean personality wise. That much is obvious because Blacksmithy giant is not hostile, but the others are. But honestly, they are all a race of giants. That is just a fact.

"All a race of giants." Do you hear yourself? What if someone got all the brown people in the world and said, "Look, you guys are brown, eat food, and like being alive so now you're a separate race." Obviously this is wrong on so many levels. Have you ever taken a modern biology class? What about anthropology? If you did you would realize that the concept of race has no biological basis and completely man made. Until you accept this I cannot debate with you further as this will lead nowhere.

That makes absolutley no sense, I did not even read the rest of your post after I read the part about the brown person. You need to understand, They are giants like we are humans. I am not seperating giant from giant, saying this giant is a different kind of giant because it looks different. That's actually my point, Every single giant looks the same, in every way, and fight the same, in every way, Apart from Gough who is was a knight of Gwyn. The Game calls them giants, the giants call themselves giants, their weapons call them giants, they are giants. Im not discriminating them for what they look like, im classifying them as what they are.

My biggest issue is what defines a "god" in the dark souls universe. We know they can be killed, what makes them different from mortals, except another body form?

Well, Gwyn is a "god", but he really do not posses anything other than a very powerful soul.

Alright here is what I think,

I think Andre is the one who said the place was built by gods, But nevertheless who says their sources are right in such a desolate wasteland with barely any sane people in it? And what if their culture respected giants enough to begin worshipping them as gods at some point in time? Giants are huge, they could be seen as humans as they can speak english, but very large humans, perhaps divine humans. What if the blacksmith god was simply another giant who used demon titanite, and the one in Anor Londo is just like him but no one ever knew about him besides the Anor Londo gods. The Blacksmith giant (Sen) could have been friends with the Blacksmith God, and together they created Sen's fortress with the help of other giants, which may have gotten stuck up there because of their large size and went insane from being able to only do work, which would explain their hostility towards the player.

Why the blacksmith god being friends with Sen speculation? He could have created the traps, and created the Golem and his Magical Weapon. (That is upgraded with Demon titanite, like the other weapons of the gods.)

Who downrepped me? I put an option in the poll. I hope no one here is a giant or Sen and I offended them.

I doubt whoever downrepped Wilks has even bothered to post here why they think his idea is wrong or whatever the reason would be to do it. I uprepped you cause while I dont think your right, its still an interesting idea.

He speaks about some unnamed Duke, who was the previous owner of Duke's Archives, before Gwyn gave them to Seath, so that Seath can continue to pursue his research.

To quote a Lightning Bolt description: "The giant blacksmith has never seen a

Given the fact that Anor Londo has been in war with dragons (thus why he can create Lightning weapons) and later demons created by Chaos Flame, it would only make sense for their blacksmith to utilize the power of demons, so that it can be used against them. Also, his ability to do is mostly for gameplay purposes as he is the hardest blacksmith to reach. You can rush to Vamos right after you start the game, but getting to Anor Londo requires some time.

Avelyn has been made by craftsman Eidas, as is said in the weapon's description. I've read a theory that Eidas is also responsible for the shooting traps in Sen's Fortress, because they fire and sound in similar fashion to Avelyn and there seems to be carvings on the traps, which bear similarities to Avelyn's design. If the fortress would be named after the trap creator, there is no reason to not name it Eidas' Fortress instead of Sen's. Saying that it can be a nickname is silly. I have done so because your theory lacks any evidence and is based sorely on asumptions. Such theories only lead to misleading rumours like the one claiming you can save Sif if you do *enter random nonesense*. Also, the poll is irrelevant to the thread with no real option to choose from and both options include words that would imply the person choosing an answer in the poll has any sort of romantic feelings for the author. Thus disabling those who lack these feelings for the author from picking a option.

To extend this further, perhaps the Giant Blacksmith was one of his apprentices.

This seems very reasonable and possible to me.

I always asumed that the word Sen is either the name of fortress' designer and thus it was named after him. Or it is the name of the race those giants belong to, because unlike the serpentmen, the giants are crucial parts of the fortress and it's mechanisms, thus naming the fortress after them would make some sense as well.

The "ancient gods" created Sen's fortress so Sen is not the creator of the fortress. This actually paves the way for Sen being anything from a Giant to the core of the Iron F---ing Golem itself. Hell, Sen could have been the name of a particularly powerful dragon whose bone created the Iron Golem.

In my post, at the very end, I slightly imply my belief that it is possible that Sen is the Blacksmith deity (with the Giant Blacksmith being an apprentice). I think that that would qualify Sen's Fortress as having been built by the gods. That is much more far-fetched than anything else I've written, but it could certainly serve as a possible explanation.
