Senough was a giant that took plastic surgery to be changed into a godlike giant human, and renamed himself Sen in the process.
Afraid that people may question his origins, he also renamed his castle and silenced anyone who would remember the old name, clearly explaining why we find the painting in Anor Londo, near the fortress, because Senough heard about the Vow of Silence miracle and knew that Velka was in there, so he got hold of the giant painting to learn the spell!

Maybe the design of a naked fat male is there to hide the fact that it's actually female beneath that armor and uses manboobs to hide her own, thus hiding her gender. Hawkeye Gough and the Giant Blacksmith know each other. Gough refers to him, questioning if he is still hammering away, and the Blacksmith owns a chest with the Hawk Ring in it. They are also both Giants, but is not clear how they are related.

The giant is in Anor Londo which means, (imo), he is NOT Sen because if Sen was in fact a God, why would he be smithing. Also, according to lore, Gwyndolin is the ONLY God left in Anor.

Sen could be a master trap maker, made the place and studied enough of things I don't know what and found a way to be the fuel for the golem. Makes sense a bit when you think on it.

Sen, is actually a nickname that FROM guys gave to me when we chatted and they loved my trolling so much, they decided to name a location full of traps after me. They said Sentiel's Fortress is too long and sounds dumb, so they used my nickname Sen (which really is how people call me a lot of times) and I got my own location named after me.

To further this with more evidence. In DeS, they named the NPC Ostrava of Boletaria after the city I live in, as I live in the city of Ostrava in Czech Republic. And because I love my country's history, they named another NPC, this time in Dark Souls Havel the Rock, which is a surname of our first post-revolution president, Vaclav Havel.
