What do with unpatched Darks ?

See title .
I have Dark Souls for both PS3 and PC, i bought it for PC to have early acces to the DLC so my PS3 version is still unpatched .

And that means i still have acces to many glitches .
So, any Ideas what i should try out ?

I'm going to get a better Internet connection soon so i will patch the Game and download the DLC .

If you have the unpatched version of Dark Souls on PS3 and it's not PTDE, then I dare you to go and finish it unpatched without Master Key as a gift.
You'll have to do it offline though.

I think it's on Patch 1.06 or something, i last played it online when the PC Version first came out .

Any particular reason why ? Is it harder than the patched version ? I don't remember many differences .

Also my Game the first EU Edition, meaning i could make another Profile and kill the Gargoyles for 1000 Souls with my OP Crystal Shield :razz:

All the good stuff is already patched then.

Harder?
You get half the Souls for kills.
No Humanity and Homeward Bone after boss kill.
Merchants have less items to offer. No Twinkling titanite, for example.
Curse can be stacked up to four times and is inflicted faster.
Only way to remove it is going to New Londo, or buying the Stones from Oswald.
Some drops and items you find are altered. Like the Humanity in Firelink? You got three, or four now and used to be only one in there. Stuff like that.
Mobs drop items less often.

The true Dark Souls starts there.

I challenge you to remove ALL patches from your PS3 for Dark Souls and see how hard the original game was. I have a spare PS3... I could try that myself.

I think you would need to create a new character, too. I don't think you can play characters that used a patch on a pre-patch game. I'm not sure, though, so don't quote me. :-) Hush, Hush, off-the-record and all that, wat?

Nope, once i delete the Patch my i cannot continue my Save and have to either patch or delety my save to play again  

I wonder if you leave that save file alone, are you able to play it after you patch the game in the future. Probably.

If you backup the save on PS+, or any other way that works for you, you can delete patches and the save and start a fresh run of Dark Souls in the same state it was released in.
This applies only to non PTDE and only console versions of the game!

After you're done, you can download your previous save along with all the required patches and resume where you left off.

Remove all patches, pwn with the Crystal Ring Shield.

The original game wasn't that much harder, if at all.  While you had things like telepathic boulder thrower in Sen's and less souls, you also had glitches, shoddier AI in some rare instances, broken pyros, and the same boss fight difficulty for the most part.

Master key doesn't remove as much difficulty as people think.  You can easily run to quelag w/o it right after beating taurus demon, simply by running down into darkroot basin ---> valley of drakes ---> blighttown.  Running past the drakes as they spend a year or so spitting lightning at air isn't exactly a bone crushing challenge.  Aside from that your only other snags are a delay in reaching havel (you have to beat the oh-so-challenging MLButterfly, and can even summon to do so) and saving Logan (the extreme difficulty of getting that cage key and coming back?  Hardly).

On the flip side, pyro was stronger than it is now, making any part of the game after that a cakewalk.  All of the usual abuses were around at 1.00 also such as simply summoning solaire/lautrec for gargs, summoning mildred + stunlocking quelag to death while mildred beats on her even with a short bow +0, ceaseless cheesing, sticking iron golem in the knee with lightning spear while tarkus does most of the tanking/work, and pillar-trapping super smough after summoning solaire as a distraction in the first part of that fight.  At that point you'd have access to maxed elemental weapons, maxed pyro glove, or anything else you'd need.  Really just power within + raw halberd +5 (both very easy to attain) allows the player to swiftly drop most/all bosses. (nito is pretty hard w/o a divine weapon...but the game gives you an occult club that you can downgrade into divine+5 as a freebie so...no big deal there).  So does PW + gravelord sword, or zwei, or anything really.

And yes, one could further shatter the initial release with the broken nonsense that was the crystal ring shield...throw some unupgraded pyro glove PW on THAT lol .

The only broken pyro I know was Iron Flesh.  Anything else?

Main glitches were Crystal Ring Shield.  I know RoF worked differently, and Dark Wood Grain Ring which would be a keeper.  Anything else major?

I'm itching to do this fresh.  I only played patched dark souls.

Edit: also this pillar trapping, I've never done it/seen it in all my countless hours of playing dark souls (I don't watch videos).  Is it a glitch where he gets stuck or something?

You need to delete all saves. Only I hated about that was no bottomless box until you got to depths or rang both bells right away. I hate carry excess cargo lol

I was actually going to suggest doing a calamity ring run with the game unpatched sadly though that won't work since it's apart of the DLC.

Wait! Do a SL 1 run with it unpatched, that'll give you something to do.

Power level off all the souls from the skeletons near firelink shrine!

   

my first playthrough's were on 1.0.0

more differences: 

- no souls for skeletons, ghosts, jelly things in depths,
- gravelord phantoms in painted world (at least I got them, while playing offline),
- you didn't get a guarantied drop from last creature of that type (boars, gargoyles..),
- the crossbow hollows in the Taurus fight arena, were closer to the ladder than now, so it was almost impossible not to be hit by them,
- dragon legs in lost izzalith had huge agrro range,
- the lone capra near yellow fog gate in demon ruins was next to the bonefire,
