I'd rather have the colors the designers originally made for the game. Another color mode might kill the atmosphere that the level's colors helped originally acquire.

It would be quite interesting I feel. Not being able to distinguish things would be pretty scary.. Alas I don't think this would happen.
Assuming of course complete blindness of colour, when actual colourblindness is nothing like that at all

I'm not sure if it really needs it. I didn't have any problems in DeS or DkS with my red-green colour blindness (except maybe in the character creation). I don't know if people with other kinds of colour blindnesses have problems in DeS or DkS though.
And colours aren't really that important in Souls games anyway.

The Dragon Butt Area of Izalith is damn near impossible for me to navigate without actually messing around with my TVs brightness and color levels.
I am Orange color blind. The Color you all see when things like Lava or Fireballs or the Fury sword go off looks to me (as was explained to me) as a weird shade of off Grey.
Most color blind modes for games cover the red-green color blindness that is most common. I've yet to run into a game that has a specific color blind mode for orange color blind individuals.
Might be neat though, I wonder what color(s) they would use in place of orange, seeing as a torch is something that will be handy, perhaps quite often, it'd be weird to have my first experience of an orange colorblind mode be in DaS2

I was not even aware other games had that feature, I've never noticed it. I can sympathize, but I doubt it will happen.

Oh, right. I completely forgot about the lava part of Izalith. I too have to adjust the brightness whenever I'm around there.Jansports wrote:The Dragon Butt Area of Izalith is damn near impossible for me to navigate without actually messing around with my TVs brightness and color levels.

I'm not against it but it could be a waste of resources making it. Colourblind people make do as is without too much trouble, the only thing that would ever really need to be changed would be something like the glow of items as colours don't really affect anything else.
The first area of Izalith is horrible even for people with full vision, the contrast is quite high and can be blinding even on standard settings. That's more of an area design problem.
EDIT: It just popped into my head about invader colours,it could be hard to tell the difference between friend or foe.

You could see every color perfectly without exception and that area is still freaking obnoxious. It's bright to the point of shadowing everything that isn't named "lava" and on top of that, it doesn't render too well and messes with frame rates on most systems I've seen. I could do without areas like that no matter what they opt to do with coloring. The Dragon Butt Area of Izalith is damn near impossible for me to navigate without actually messing around with my TVs brightness and color levels.

Why not.
Still, from the demos, DkS 2 didn't look like a really colorful game.

Varies. Some people see grey, while in others their brain simply can't identify the colour so people don't know what it is. Wish I knew more but I'm not an expert unfortunatelySoris Ice Goldwing wrote:This is all new to me but I highly doubt it will come into play....and not to be rude just I know little on color-blindness but does the color you are blind too always look grey?

A lot of the time its not being able to distinguish one colour from another. A mate of mine had trouble with Red, orange, and certain shades of yellow, couldn't tell the diffrence, another had trouble with green and blue, didn't find out about it until he went for a job as a mechanic and was wiring things up wrong. He'd given up playing with us online, until bad company 2 introduced a colourblind option.Soris Ice Goldwing wrote:This is all new to me but I highly doubt it will come into play....and not to be rude just I know little on color-blindness but does the color you are blind too always look grey?
I say bring it in, i don't see why having it would affect the game for others.
