I Want Staffs!!

Please let us use quarter staffs. I want these to be a dex build weapon with a decent strength requirement. I really want to make a Monk or Druid type character so bad. Plus I just want to beat people up with it lol:thumbs up:

Agreed. I think they'd be great as you'll create a really interesting move set with them.

We've had one. It was just a halberd/polearm that dealt normal damage instead of slashing damage.

I want one like rydel's from DeS. Just wish I had his speed too. Man he was annoying if he stun-locked you.

I think staves could make a great addition to the next Souls game.

I think they need some 'factor', something that qualifies them as a weapon class all their own. To that end, I would suggest making them similar to Manus Catalyst; in that they are spellcasting mediums that have a decent attack rating.

For example: A catalyst has the highest Mag. Adjust, and lets you cast at the fastest cast-speed available to you based on your DEX stat. However, the AR on your R2 is extremely low.
A 'sorcery' staff, by comparison has a lower relative Mag. Adjust, casts as the R2/L2 and has a decent AR.

It would be nice if Mage types had a good dual magic casting and bonking weapon.
If only those combat casting rods in Dark Souls had an upgrade path =(

As for pure monk style stick fighting,
I would think it needs to be fast moving sweeping attacks. Almost something where you did not need to lock on to fight with it.
Add in those new fabric movement physics...

I think he meant have a separate weapon class, just like katanas only have 4 weapons but are their own type

Or lanterns, only 1 but it has it's own class. What a sad waste.

Something like a Halberds moveset (poke for R1, double sweep for R2) with the Falchions R2 attack for the second press of R2 (when you chain 2xR2 attacks it does the sweep, then the falchions R2).

Slightly quicker than the Halberd, without the stumble, but the caveat is that you must two hand them, one handing will not work (alternatively one handing will cast miracles with a lower than usual adjustment).

I always liked the variety in sorcery catalysts and didn't really like the sameness of the talismans.

I did spell staves wrong lol. I would like to see a special one that works with a scaling of Faith and Dex. Say a B rank for faith and B rank for Dex with a C rank in strength. I would like to see special sweeping moves when you two hand it. Also some rolling poke moves that can stun lock someone or a over head smash move. These would be different than Halberds and previous pole arms from Dark Souls. They would be like someone stated, move like a falchion and some poke moves from the halberds. I think a cool special R2 Two handed attack could be a spin like the bonewheel shield. This attack would stun lock and since my idea for one has a faith stat, this attack could be used to block magic also. also like others have said, maybe some that allow you to cast spells from them. This way you could make a bad *** Druid,Monk, or battle Mage.
