Lock please.

So I have the downloaded version of Dark Souls on the 360, without AotA.

So, my friend came over and played dark souls and since his account had the AotA, he downloaded it onto the 360. Well, since my account doesn't have the AotA, I boot up the game and it says something like this:

Artorias of the Abyss content failed to load. Aortorias of the Abyss content cannot be accessed.

So... I just thought the game would continue as normal, content is there but not able to go to the DLC area.

BUT

I sat with the cat ring on for an hour. No invasions. No messages anywhere. I can place a sign, and use an orb, etc. Nothing happens though.

My theory is that the game has placed me in a server by myself. The actual DLC content failed to load, so everyone else who has it, meaning everyone, is unavailable for me to interact with. SO, the game has isolated me. I'm basically playing an offline Dark Souls, even though I'm actually online. I sure frickin' hope I don't have to buy AotA content. Money's kinda tight...


EDIT:Nevermind, I can probably delete the dlc add-on, that might fix the problem.

Did you just try for that hour? You could go back on later and see how things are when everything gets refreshed, so to speak.

I also tried a couple days beforehand. Same results.

Hmm.... Then I'm fresh outta ideas mate, I have a physical base game and AotA so I can't fully empathize with your situation.

It's fine, I'm pretty sure I an just delete the add-on, the game will be fine. If not, I better cough up some dough.

I deleted the download content. Online now working.

change the tiltle to please lock so mods can just look and see

If your friend downloaded the DLC using HIS gamertag, you will NOT have it accessible on yours. Not everyone has AotA btw. You probably corrupted your files by trying to cheat the DLC using your buddies. For future bud, you have to purchase your own add-ons because xbox is fussy that way. If it's fixed that's fine, cause your xbox probably repaired itself.
Also, from what I've read somewhere, DLC's when downloaded have a certain coding in them that in a way registers that copy to your serial number or something on your console. So, trying to access HIS dlc thru YOUR gamertag messed you up bad because the dlc was looking for his tag and NOT yours.

Your probably right when you talked about the dlc stuff, it explains why what happened happened.

But never accuse me of cheating, please, and try to find the facts before accusing people. He simply downloaded it to play the dlc on his account, that is all.

When youh guys see a thread that the creator is asking to lock, you can also report it.  Select Misc, or Irrelevant Content, and type in the box "The creator wishes the thread to be locked."  That will tell a moderator quicker.
