I could not tell if it was a NPC or player! Are there any known NPC summons in this area? I did not think I was in human form, but I could be mistaken. (I killed him and no messages came up.)

There is a glitch were you dont see people invade, the message does not show up and there is no sign of them on your players met list. I dont know if people do something to cause it but if you host in the forest or any other PvP hot spots you will get it every now and then. That might be it.

It was either the hollowed form of the crestfallen warrior or a glitched player invading as a darkmoon. My money is on it being the cresftallen warrior since he hollows before the first bridge to New Londo ruins.

The Crestfallen Warrior will only hollow if you talk to him long enough for him to tell you "...maybe it's time I did something about it."

Need to ask. Did you talk to the guy sitting across from the bonfire in firelink AFTER you rang the 2nd bell? If so, then that definitely was him. It can't be an invader because he hadn't lowered the water in NL yet. Can't be invaded until the water is drained.

i think you were invaded my friend. i never met the crestfallen warrior as a invader so its probally a player who's invasion message didn't show. also i never heard of a glitch that causes the crestfallen warrior to invade.. and considering he doesn't hollow after you talked to him when that bad breathed serpent shows up it seems highly unlikely to me this warrior will invade far from the firelink shrine. new londo would've been more likely to me.. but i could be wrong since im unfamiliar with this glitch
