    I imagine this as a stat which would govern a couple of things: 

    1.  The ability to parry and backstab.  Hitboxes would get larger for BS and the timing window would widen for parry.

    2.  The drawspeed of bows and velocity of arrows.  Purpose: to make archery more viable in PvP.  Obviously, in real life, hand-eye coordination wouldn't make arrows faster, but for the purposes of game structure, this is how it would manifest.

    When this idea occurred to me, at first I thought it might not be practical, since it might lead to EVERYONE putting points into the skill, just to spam backstabs.  But then I thought, if it required 40 - 50 points to become a definining skill for any build, SOMETHING has to be sacrificed.  If becoming a good backstabber means you need both Hand-Eye and Dexterity (I know, they might be considered the same thing...but just go with it for the sake of conversation), then you must come up with a pile of points otherwise put into Vit or End.

    Obviously, including a mechanic like this in an already decent combat forumula is risky.  Nobody wants to see something become OP to the point where it breaks all other builds or ends up requiring a nerf, but I thought something like this might have potential to diversify builds. 

    Anyone have any opinions?  Things they might add?  Or even just another, completely different skill they might add which could augment the four core skills we all tend to pick.

    I could see it working for parry and arrow related items,
    but I don't know about backstabs... lot of anger over those the way they are now =p

    But anything to make archers a viable build would be nice.
    Arrows are so slow in DS that you should just have the option of grabbing them out of the air.waiting

    I think archery has been buffed anyway- You can move while shooting and you might draw arrows faster anyway.

    Still a nice idea although it might ruin the challenge of mastering parry timings especially for expert pvp players (although I play almost no pvp so I'm not the right person to comment on this xD)

    Im not sure that is even possible (practical?) in real life, that better take some high DEX stats to run-in-gun.


    ...not that I would mind being able to move and shoot like Legolas riding on a shield in DS2 =P

    Eh no thanks id rather have a set parry window to master instead of several different ones but the bow idea would be sweet, faster arrow draw and speed would make bow builds fun to use maybe this skill could (slighty ) increase walk speed with bows, but we don't want bows being too powerful i suppose.

    I think it would be a waste of a stat. Mainly because, not everyone parries or BS's. Only time I bs is by luck. I don't fish for it. Besides, a lot of people dislike BS fishers. Why make it easier for the BS'ers?

    I'd merge it with Dexterity for the purposes you proposed, things like fire-speed and hand related skills are already influenced by dexterity in many games. Dexterity actually refers to a skill with your right(Hand/feet/limbs.etc). Sinistrality refers to a skill of the left, but for ambiguous purposes Dexterity is a skill of the hands. Eye-hand would affect things like aim-speeds and accuracy at higher reflex, it involves a tandem of Hand-reaction-to-eye or lag-time between seeing something and reacting to it; reflex-speed, so it would affect a parry-window but there's just not much use to make it a stand-alone skill, and instead a mechanic like poise.

    Not trying to be an ***, but dextrality refers to skill of right limbs, dexterity is related to any skill involving the hands and is derived from Latin. Although I bet it shares some connection with the right hand being the better hand for most people..
