Here's my question, why do people have to speak in forums with internet lingo just to stay relevant?

No clue. Some slang is fine, but excessive is a real headache to read.

I actually forget to drop my British slang occasionally which I'm sure makes people a bit confused

Has anyone here tried Salmiak? I just found out that apparently we only have it here in Finland, and most other people seem to dislike it. (it's a sort of candy).

It's kinda hard to explain  It gives you this burning (but it's not "hot" like, say chili) feeling. The taste can vary quite a lot, from bitter to sour.

What you're describing is not quite like an Atomic Fireball.  Those are cinnamon flavored and are (to most people) excessively hot.

EDIT: I just looked it up since I love candy (waaaay more than I should) and there's a specialty shop near where I work that often has assorted candies from Europe. Apparently from what I can tell it's a for of what we'd just classify as "licorice" in the USA. It's not a popular flavor here so everything gets lumped into the term "licorice" and tends to be on the sweet side. The store in question near my work usually has a big variety of European licorices and since I do enjoy the flavor I've tried a large number that are definitely not popular here. The range has been from soft like a marshmallow with brown sugar coating to very hard (not quite "hard" candy since it's theoretically "chewy") and salty. Maybe I'll pop in and see if they have any specifically named what you said Spurgun.

So, how did all of you first find out or decide to come to this forum? I am sure there is a thread of it somewhere, but might as well ask.

Snooping around for Dark Souls info on the Wiki. Then I realized it had this forum. And I joined soon after to give me stuff to do.
