Wiki and Forum Buttons Empty Wiki and Forum Buttons

Post by berkut Sat Mar 10, 2012 3:09 pm

Hi all, I apologize for the poor choice of title, I couldn't think of a good one silly.

I just wanted to note that, for my web browser at least (Firefox for a mac), if you hit the forum button in the wiki, it opens to forum page as a smaller window within the wiki window. Conversely, if you are in the forum, and you hit the wiki button, it opens the wiki in a sub-window of the forum page.

The thing with this is that it is cumulative, so if I hit wiki and it opens a sub-window within the forum window, then I hit the forum button on the wiki page, then that new sub-window opens as a sub-window within the last sub-window, and so on.

Note that this is really nit picky, and I don't think it is much of an issue (and I doubt it is something that you guys could fix), I just thought it would be interesting to bring up.

We have two different forum links on the nav bar. The top one is the one that does the situation you are describing (which is comically unintended!). We put the wiki button and the nav bar for those folks who choose to access the forums directly in fullscreen which is what the lower Wiki forum link in the navbar does. For those who did not want to browse the forums in the context of the wiki, we wanted to offer a quicker method of opening the wiki as opposed to having to go back to the forum home page.

This is working as intended. We have a twisted sense of humour.

Great, nice to know the admins are trying to make me cry as I accidentally press the wrong buttons and create many, many sub windows silly.

Thanks for the quick responses you two, I appreciate it happy.
