I don't undestand ...

I'm right here farming at the Duke's Archives and I got a quick message on my screen that read something like this: disasters are gone after defeating the gravelord servant, what does it mean?

It means a Gravelord had dropped an Eye of Death and infected your world. If you noticed any Black Phantom versions of enemies in the area, they were there because of this (I'm not sure what kind of enemy shows up in the Archives). All that message means is that the Gravelord died and there will no longer be any Black Phantom mobs in your world.

Ok?? so Gravelord as in Nito died??? I haven't fought that boss yet

I mean a player who had joined the Gravelord covenant. Their special PvP trick is that they drop a sign with an Eye of Death and that sign then appears in 3 other players' worlds who are in the same area as the Gravelord. Any world this sign appears in gets infected with the Black Phantom enemies, but if the player who infected you dies all infected worlds are cleared. If you find the sign they leave when they drop the Eye of Death (it's VERY noticable, like big black cloud on the ground) you can invade the player who cursed you and try to kill them yourself, and since there are more worlds than just yours who got infected, then it's possible that you and other "infectees" will invade at the same time

Gravelord is a very intricate covenant

I see that message fairly often, but I've only seen actual phantoms twice. The greatsword knight who appears at the Undead Parish is a bucketful of nasty, btw.

I've been infected 3 times that I can recall, once in the Parish with that nasty SoB of a phantom, and twice in Anor Londo. Gotta say though, those Black Phantom Anor Londo Giants are probably the worst thing I've ever had to deal with :|

I got this message at least 100 times now (This is not an overstatement!) and invaded dozens of gravelord's worlds, but I NEVER EVER saw a black phantom enemy in my world! Why is that?

I only saw one once in another player's world... red skelly dog in ToG... was scary :shock:

Yikes! Those are so dangerous, I can't imagine a Black Phantom skeleton beast.

Only encountered the red Anor Londo castle phantoms. They aren't so bad until you go to the top part of the castle when you're on the roof. They triple team you and that's not cool :/

Someone told me the Cov. was broken or something. I've never found any BP's in my World or a 'Black Cloud.' Whenever it gives you the message,just keep chilling.

Due to the mysterious nature of the covenant and tight lips of FROM Software it is being speculated or theorized that the Gravelord sign appears in more than 3 worlds very much like the other soul signs but only three of the worlds where the sign appears actually develop BPs.

Not broken. Misunderstood, poorly implemented by the developers,(could be argued that defines broken) and most important of all not enough active Gravelords.

I've had this come up several times in various areas but the only red phantom I saw was this huge figure in the Undead Parish standing near the altar. I had a go at it several times but it killed me each time and I was miffed because just as I thought I might be getting the better of it in my last attempt it vanished because Nico was killed.

Yeah, I'm actually very glad I didn't have to fight it! (I was invading) :o

And thank you DxV04 for the hint! That is a very strange mechanic imo if it's really like that :|

my new thing to do until the forest event is gravelord the burg with a lvl 11 toon, if i level this one up i'll move him to tomb of the giants and spawn bp skellie dogs (one spot has 3+ at once! )

Praise the gravelord!! I have also heard that giant BP skellies spawn in the room where the ember is at also... :affraid:
