Battlefield 3 IDs & Chat

Hey all, I thought that we were using the 'No trophy for Dark Souls' by SlakeMoth to chat about Battlefield 3 a bit too much. Therefore, I decided to create a Battlefield 3 thread so that people could post their origin and battlelog tags here and talk about Battlefield 3 in general.

To start:

@ Whknight: I never played the game for the first few months, so I can't really tell if it changed much. But for the PC, I find the game is very well designed, almost no clipping issues or game map flaws that can be exploited. Some annoying bottlencks (Operation Metro...) and some annoying guns (USAS12), but besides that the game is pretty balanced.

Highly true (not like I expect this to get much traffic though). I will have to watch it closely to ensure that if trolling and flaming does occur that I notify a moderator to have the thread locked.

For the love of God, I hope their aren't flame wars involving games that aren't even closely related to Dark Souls...

I hope so too emergence, that would just be horrendous and embarrassing :|

I would imagine the only flaming of any kind would most likely come from me for the various reasons I have left around the forum, seriously though I do try to keep it locked down.

Are you able to play on the high settings? I can't really remember if the graphics were stunning on the 360 at least, seeing that I can't remember it was probably wasn't. As much as I hate it now I do secretly want to play it and relive the days of 2 and 2142, some of my best moments in my FPS career were on 2142. My proudest achivement is that a few servers I really frequented, banned me because my sniping reflex/aiming was botlike and I wasn't even aware of what an aimbot was at that time...

think we should change the title of this topic to why do people flame? lol

That likes to talk to oneself? I figured that is pretty common, I do it mostly when I am stressed..like now .

Boredom or when I am thinking really hard... Man I miss BF2, was really freaking fun.

Oh lord do I feel sorry for you. I don't consider the Bad Company series as part of Battlefield. It just didn't have the numbers and maybe even conquest that made the series what it is. I wasn't that into it either, a few months after having my copy it just vanished into thin air. I got more involved with 2142 which was basicly WW3 happening in the same manner as WW2.

Interesting, I had only heard vaguely of 2142, I still really hope you find a way to hope on in BF3, I think you would enjoy the PC version, by the way, what was so bad about the console versions?

24 players if I remember right, 12 a team. Much smaller maps, I think graphic wise it wasn't as great but still nice. Oh and alot of people at least on release still tried to play it like CoD, one of the reasons I stopped and raged on the 'beta' shortly after they released it.

Currently I'm really upset with EA/DICE, while sadly I'm currently playing an EA title, BF3 disappointed me so much I really don't know if I'll give it a second chance.

What maps were available during the Beta? Operation Metro and Caspian Border?

Just Metro for consoles... on Rush.

That would indeed not be a fair representation of battlefield 3 then, although I actually do like that map (although I like all the maps....). That one is also annoying because it turns into a bottleneck war in rush after the first mcomm set.

The PC version is up to 64 players (32 each side) with rush, conquest, squad rush, squad deathmatch, and team deathmatch. Maps include Caspian Border, Noshahr Channel, Operation Firestorm, Tehran Highway, Operation Metro, Damavand Peak and Karsk Island. Just thought I would pop the names up if you wanted to youtube them.

Heh thanks, but I'm aware of what the PC version has. I just feel betrayed that they made the console version in such bad taste.

Indeed, I'm not sure why the implemented some of the things that they did for the console versions.

And just think, me and Zechk both play the PC versions, and Mildred mentioned she plays the game too (sorry for the shameless recruiting, looking for other people to play the game with )

Sob, ever since the patch I have been awful at the game, i can't seem to find the enemies and I can never hit them sob. Either the patch changed some things a lot, or I have entered a deep and prolonged period consisting of a lack of skill
