I don't like the whole "premuim" thing, pay 50$ more just to be caught up and get access to what everyone else is going to have? Meh. Sure you get a ****, but when its being thrown in your face it doesnt give you a good feeling.

My thoughts on the newest expansion pack:

The new expansion features a sweet new arsenal of weapons including the spas-12 and the British L86 (sp?) a really awesome LMG with a ton of stopping power

The maps are beautiful, each have thier own unique style and design. The HD destruction feature is pretty solid as well, every fire fight kicks up massive amounts of dust and debris and mass damage to the surroundings, which is also pretty awesome as well.

The game play however is where i found these maps to fall short.... by quite a bit. As it goes without saying these maps are designed for "Close quarter" combat, so danger is around every corner. unfortunately, on a 24-man 12 on 12 server this becomes basically a meat grinder. these maps were simply not desgined (IMO) for more than 4-8 men a team. On average, 1 of 3 of my spawns ended within a second of spawning because of me being spawn on an enemies location.

This brings me to my second issue, randomized spawn points. In normal conquest mode, your objective is to capture bases, or flags for your team in order to reinforce from that position, or ernatively spawningrm your home base. The close quarters maps do away with this system, probably due to fear of camping and balance issues, but taking away much of the point of playing the objective. Instead, Conquest domination feels li e little more than team deathmatch with ticket bleed.

his being said, ive probably had the most fun on these maps so far by playing with some friends on an empty server with our own rules. And if a more arcade style shooter gameplay is your thing, then you cant go wrong with the Close Quarters DLC, Just expect to die a lot.

dont worry bout C.Q. for now, I'd wait for it to go down in price (HA!HA!HA! pfffffffff! *snicker* EA am i right?) If you do plan on getting premium, get it for Armored Kill. And im sure there will still be lots of classic maps to play.

yeah the unfortunate thing about it is that creeping sense of being "left behind" as all the old maps become less and less frequent. remmeber playing Damavand Peak Squad rush? Niether do I ;_;

I hate being "that guy" that hates the DLC but then buys it, but god damn i just wanna play Battlefield!

I suppose it's better than them advertising shortcut kits, those were awful. Suck at game? Solution= throw money at it.
