Poise...?!

Hello everyone!
I've been working on my endurance lately so i could equip heavier armor. One reason for that is faster as poise would allow me to go two handed berserk without interruption. But with 70poise something with stone armor set and balder gloves i get staggered by rats and torch guys in the dephts O_O
Is 70 poise really that low??

I know what you mean those darn rats most ignore poise I've been stunlocked to death once or twice by them. I think they know when they've got you. They'll let you farm them all day let your confidence go up up up and then when your not paying attention they've got you in their darn stunlock of deathtrap.

No amount of poise is helping me get past the Bed of Chaos at the moment. I've even resorted to the 'Iron Flesh' pyromancy spell but I still get knocked over or down into the abyss. What I really need is a chainsaw.

Use a bow...

I used a bow on the left hand side bubble but arrows have no effect on the right hand one unfortunately. Quite why this is I'm not sure because the arrows are hitting it.

What is the bed of chaos? i've never heard of it in-game, is it a boss of some sort? farthest i've played is anor londo. But there is still many zones i have'nt been in yet. Was thinking about doing the painted world but i was too much of a chicken at the time as i knew that once i was in there i had to finish it to get back out hehe =)

the bed of chaos is a boss. the most infuriating boss of the game IMO. the lore behind him is awesome but its the only boss that truely made me want to throw my controller. You'll see when you reach it. If you played demon souls think the dragon god only not as good.

Rats do seemingly ignore poise.

As for the Bed, I destroy one side, quit, reload. Destroy the other side, quit, reload. Destroy the middle. It's cheap but I've got a lot of ponies to lose and you'll die more times running from one side to the other.

LOL, people (poise hogs) you really shouln't be trying to get hit. Specially against bosses. But!! To each his own..

thers no such thing as having enough poise to not get push backed by the bed...the bed is by far the lamest boss in drs you dont block you roll

I remember doing some experiments with joocy, well in fact he made them on me and he discovered not only that one can handle up to 3 hits with a greatsword if you have max poise but also that many times 70 and 73 poise makes the difference between getting staggered by one hit 2 hits or not, so maybe you should try getting it a bit over 73 and see what happens.

I agree with what other people say about not rellying on poise that much and also bed of chaos, you could easily beat bed of chaos naked with a high stability shield and patience, BOC kills by sweeping you to fall I would say 70% of the time.

Rats always stagger me also it's like a special hit they have like a kick which will always stun/open your guard.

That's a great point. It's like a kick-stun that also does damage. In the Depths I got head-butted by a rat at NG+infinity for over 1,100 hp.

I am doing the 0 poise and low armor thing, now I know how much I depend on pooise and armor it's hard. Core playing like this.

~80 poise is good enough for a Greatsword hit,
~40 poise is enough for a standard sword hit

If anyone plays as a dragon covenant in full dragon form you learn how to play with out relying on poise. Using the dragonoid body helped my PvP tremendously.

and it was fun. I love to roar.

since scales don't get summoned I invade as a red and I roar as soon as I can just to try and freak some people out hehe.
